I'm guessing this may have been bought back by the owner, at this price, as a 'hold'.

Yes - all the numbers I am quoting are the hammer prices so depending whose side you are on feel free to add or subtract the percentages. ;)

    Hi Elad,
About this car, the value is in euro's pretty different. As the USD was in 2008 1.55 vs 1.28 now...also according to me the price of 3.6 mil was including the 10% and 2.375 not....
If you take this into account the price is about only 200k euro down.

    Ciao
    Oscar

Ps I am not trying to make things nicer as they are...

Yes, totally crashing... better get out quick while you still can... Dump your cars and go to all dollars... its the only safe bet and so much more fun than all these old clunkers...

By the way, I have had that Cal Spyder 3 times and remember well the first time I bought it circa 1997 or so for under $400K!

Sure hope it comes back again.

Bill do you know (and care to share) if many cars were sold into the trade, as opposed to end users, this weekend? My curiosity is to whether some of the prices should be considered "wholesale".
    Thanks
    David

The buyer of the peugeot got a good deal, it is a shame for the old owner , the car is worth more then 200.

not crashing, but not optimistic as Thursday?

I wasn't there, seems overall the mood and prices were flat, which isn't bad.

I'm with you Bill. Having a big bank balance is so much more FUN than driving some old car that doesn't even have air con, ABS, power steering, even a bloody radio ........gees.

from a pricing stand-point, this year has the same feel as last year...no clear direction up or down. Some things sold fine; but the no-stories, big-money cars, that one would think would have sold very well, well it seemed as though they either struggled to reach low estimate (250 Sefac Hot Rod if you include buyer's premium), didn't sell (250 Testarossa), or sold below low estimate (375 MM, 250 PF Series 1 Cab.). The anomoly was the LWB Comp. Spyder that I actually thought would NS. So maybe the auction houses should re-think their estimations. There also were, like last year, a number of lots not selling.

Price seems a bit low for a Daytona Spyder #14543 with an interesting history...
