From the few that I've seen, the only problem with the aftermarket stripe is that it doesn't sit as "flush" with the logo on the hood since it's not under the clearcoat (at least that's my understanding). I could tell that a rectangle was cut out of the stripe for it. No way is that a $21k problem though, I agree that is insane.

+ 2. But since so few are available, people who want them have no choice but to pay the premium.

I'm curious why this "StokPro" doesn't get paid for his services guys?

Man he must have 20 hours a week just in these car questions and answers. I'd sure hate to see his PM's...........sheesh!

Mark, you're not still thinking of 'selling' that whip to your buddy, are you? Jonesin' for a red with stripe?

I have to keep clearing my inbox so I can respond to the messages.

I'm cooking up a few fee-based options as CS 'consulting' is starting to consume a lot of time. Love helping folks, but you guys are right, my time is not FREE.

Had you bought a factory striped CS would you be asking yourself the same question (stripe, no stripe?)? To be clear, for all you stripe haters I enjoy both stripe and non stripe strads. I prefer stripe but love the purity of non stripe. Love 'em all, really. JD, did you recently buy that CS from F of Silicon Valley, perhaps sometime in June/July?

Now that's what I'm talking about.I wish I had been ready to jump when that yellow one in La Jolla had been listed but I'm still about 6 mo's away from doing the dirty deed. Plus I've read a few pretty uncomplimentary posts about that dealer so maybe it's a good thing after all. If that's your cs marknkidz I'm jealous.

Damn your good...I am the guilty party. Bought it to drive it, but have been out of town too much to get any miles on it to this point.

Aftermarket wheels, interior, radio and stripe. Has been painted. Capristo 3. Needs a major. Dealer has no records. Clutch/brake life unknown.

I had some interest in this car, but all the aftermarket and non original stuff didn't work for me at that price point.

Titanio looks better anyway IMHO. Plus you got yourself a nice late production CS.

Speaking of production dates ,could you tell us what the total run dates for the cs were? Also ,I was looking at the two cars cnc motors was listing and they had a picture of some sort of ecu status report about trany pressures and clutch wear. Are you familiar with that report? Thanks.

The report to which you refer is the Ferrari SD2 Systems Diagnostics report which should be part of a pre-purchase inspection of a Challenge Stradale. The challenge (pun intended) is that SD2 systems are not terribly common outside of dealerships due to their cost, limited availability and finicky nature (lots a cables, computer hook-up, etc.)

Well put. As part of the SD2 report, you should have said parameter readouts which include clutch wear, clutch overheating time, gear engagement count, etc as well as histograms. Very useful as part of your due diligence. Best of luck in your search!

Why would they not keep the stock parts to go along with the car ? Anyway looking for a 360 CS, and will wait for something clean to pop up.

So many cars (not just CS), are missing books, records, original parts, keys, fobs, etc. Most of this stuff can be replaced. It just takes time and money!

For anyone looking for an immaculate no stories, low mileage Stradale...I've reduced mine again. Corsa with factory stripe and all black alcantara interior. Fully serviced and ready to go! In Ferrari ads.
