    Hi All
Please could I ask one of you post '80 308 GTB/GTS owners to get out a tape measure out and measure off whereabouts the drill hole on the fog lamp mounting bolts should be, please? I've got a 1980 308 GTB that was first registered in September 1980 and appears never to have been fitted with rear fog lights that became compulsory in the UK in April 1980...
I've put in all the wiring, switch etc., and now all I need to do is attach the fog lights. Do they mount on the bumper itself, or underneath on the lower valence, please, and do the wires then come through the boot floor with some appropriate grommets on the horizontal panel that provides the top of the cavity into which the bumper fits?
If someone could provide me with the distance inboard from the outside edge of the bumper - if its mounted on the underside of the bumper - or this inboard dimension and then a vertical distance down, if its mounted on the valence, I'd be both in your debt and off to get my MOT test!
    Thanks

A while ago I was looking at 308's and this '77 Euro photo was sent to me from the seller. I don't own this car but hopefully it will give you an idea on where the rear fog lamp mounts. Unfortunately I don't have any dimensions for the mounting bracket location.

The car was located in France so I'm not sure if their laws apply to yours.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the pic - definitely the valence then! The fog lamps I've got, supposedly for a 308, are larger Carello ones, with a couple of 'cheese wedge' spacers that look like there supposed to produce the right angle for the light. I'm just chicken about drilling the holes - it's something I only want to have to once!
    Cheers

For QV models the factory had brackets which were sandwiched between the bumper and the bumper mount, they also were using Bosch lamps at that time.

    Hi Andy
Thanks for the photos - I'd got the wrong idea completely - it looks from your photos as though the lights are mounted sideways with the bracket on the inboard side - I'd not considered this solution at all - very lateral.
    Cheers
    Paul

No worries Paul - let me know if you need anything else.
Sorry for the tardy response, I've just got back from a couple of weeks in Greece...
