Any1 own a 430 with over 100K Miles??

Ive been scouring the internet and have yet to see a 430 pushing 100K miles or anything close to it, does anyone drive their 430 this much?

 

Are you looking to buy one with that many miles?

 

I think there was an 80k mile 360...

IIRC, there's more than one 100k+ mile 360. I would imagine there is a 430 close to that number by now.

 

I'm pretty sure they can easily hit those "limits". I personally know of an owner that has passed 60k miles, well on his way to 100k. Wouldn't surprise me when (not if) he does. Hope that satisfies your curiosity.

 

I recently saw a 124K mile 360 for sale.

That is 200,000 km's. Looks in pretty good condition too.

Was a red/tan F1 from memory.

 

Question:

Why wouldn't a Ferrari reach the 100/150K + miles? My understanding (as I don't own my Ferrari yet) at the end of the day, it is still just a car: LIKE ANY OTHER.

Therefore, if properly maintained and cared for, it should quite happily do these miles.

Perhaps the question is more so about the build quality of the other parts?

By NO means of comparison, I've got a track car - a Peugeot 306 GTi6. 1997 with 156,000 miles on the clock. I've had the head head re-done and most the mechanics, yet the electrics (albeit a French Achilles heal) are a bit dodgy, and the interior is falling to bits. No rust per say. Yet the car drives like is came out of the showroom - like a go-kart! )

If a £1500 French POS can do this, then why not a £150K car?

there are Gallardo's out there over 100k...I think the Italian police version had 90k+

 

Couple of months ago a UK Murcielago hit 143000 miles. I see no reason why any Ferrari couldn't reach that sort of mileage either, or any car.

 

Good question, and I totally agree that if maintained properly there should be no reason that you cannot get that mileage

 

I'm quite sure that for 99.999% of owners it's all about resale not about "can
the car last that long".

But I do always wonder if the folks in Maranello think "no one ever drives these things
so no need to design for anything beyond 50,000 miles"....

ive also known of gallardos with between 40-60k that needed full engine rebuilds as well as compression was down considerably

Gallardo Spyder is pretty much the perfect daily drivable exotic out there... If it only had just a little more storage space (for a 2 person weekend getaway)...

 

I was recently offered an 05 F430 with 52k miles.....that is the highest I've seen so far.

 

89,000 miles on my 360 now. Done almost all of them myself. Just look after the usual bits and there is no reason why it shouldn't push well over 100K+

 

My 430 has 27000miles. My previous 360 32000.

 

well if true that doesnt speak much for those cars..

 

I've seen an F430 with a little over 100,000 but it's in Kilometers

 

well these cars were built to be driven at high speeds and as such their parts are built to offer higher performance but at the expense or longevity. with these cars it doesn't matter much if its driven hard or babied for, each part has a life and irregardless of how hard its driven its going to wear out in that time frame. This excludes track cars which require a ton more maintainence since they are driven at the limit frequently.

 

There is a 360 with 125K miles in San Francisco. Down in LA there is a 430 spider with 85K+ miles. Both cars are on their original engines and gearboxes.

Impossible. Car will disentegrate. Drive less. Save it for the next guy. He will appreciate it.

 

It is impossible to tell what kind of drivers the cars have been subjected to.

I'll bet you the Ferrari driven by a guy that putts around town for show will last longer than the guy that takes it up to redline regularly which will last longer than the rental Ferrari.

Some kind of OBD statistic like average RPM and average Speed over the lifetime of the car might help to compare cars and predict future failure. Also, miles/day or miles/month would be another OBD statistic which could help track lack of use, which is also particularly bad.

 

That makes no sense.. how do you explain the engine in the NSX and Z06 etc. etc. being so bloody bulletproof? the NSX engine produces high rpm and high BHP per Liter yet lasts forever, same can be said for the lotus elise engine (toyota) and many other engines..

if you are telling me a standard gallardo engine could go to 60k miles I would never buy the car, though to be honest I find that fact completely bogus.. I have heard of gallardo's and murci's having no such problems if properly maintained..

I don't believe it, but if true I wouldn't buy any car that can't last 60k miles.. be it ferrari, or lambo or anything.. ridiculous
