Grabbed clothes the other day not checking John's shirt pocket, tossed into washer, set on delicate, set for gentle spin. Heard a clunking sound .... the machine is a Bosch front loader that spins at the speed of light but fortunately I didn't have it operating enroute to hyperspace that day. When it told me the clothes were done, I discovered the red iPod and thought "oh ****". "sorry, but I just washed your iPod!" so the clear Belkin cover came off and little iPod got relagated to the rail outside the door in the sun (face down). After an afternoon sun bathing in 100+ temps it said "plug in" - screen looked a bit funky but it was operational! Screen has improved from being slightly foggy from Tide and it functions!

Morale of this is to check shirt pockets before doing laundry.

I did the same to my second gen nano.

It lasted for three days before giving up the ghost for good.

One trick I have learned, is place the device in a ziploc bag full of dry rice.
The rice will draw out any moisture in the device.
