Only took me about 5 miles to be really impressed with this car. Here are a few pictures of my new RS. Matt Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Niiice! Love the white and gold! Did you think about doing the rims gold, I'd think that would be pimp too. Nice house also. More pictures of that roll cage if you don't mind!
Excellent color combo, especially with the aluminum upright for the wing. (Mine is an 11' in White/red) How many miles on her so far? (Im only up to 750......mission#1 is to get up to about 1500 in the next few weeks) BobR
I thought I would get tired of the gold rims so I went with silver. I have some track rims on order that are black so I think that will look good too. I will try and post some more pictures in the next couple of days. After tonight we are at 55 miles. I have to get out of this "break-in" period as soon as possible! I need to hear this thing at 8,000 RPM's!! Matt
I've been trying to get a good amount of miles (150-200+) on if possible during the weekend days, plus some weekdays.........doing some highway, some long sweeping roads, some twisty stuff. Just to keep the engine with a good variation of break-in. (A nice highway trip aint all that bad either). When it gets to just about that 4000rpm range the exhaust opens more, and you hear nothing but glorious sounds from the rear. I think you'd agree......WOW what a car!!!
Add a Sharkwerks bypass pipe and you will really hear the great sound of the exhaust. The best mod you can make to the car.

Very very true......I just turned 2000mi yesterday on a MtDrive with the Lotus club........the car is just amazing above 5000...........and when you're up to 7K+ it is nothing but a symphony! (Actually once you're into 5K+ its a whole different ballgame there). Probably one of the most impressive things to experience is, a nice corner, in-fact a decreasing radius...... when you might normally think you are near a limit........... your'e not even close to what the car is prepared/willing to do.
It is a GREAT car on the track!! You have a lot more grip than what you think. I did not want to leave the track!! Matt
the car is BEAUTIFUL. does it drive well on the street? much road noise? do you bottom out on driveways? do you miss the AWD that come standard on the turbo 911? please, i need to hear something negative to diminish my attraction to this vehicle!!
great machine...5 yrs huh? better late to the porsche faith than never. i have never not had a porsche in my garage since finishing college. porsche is a staple portion of any true car guy's diet! good luck with the track bug...with a car like that, the urge to get back to the track can consume you pcb
I have been surprised how comfortable the car is on the street. I thought it would be much worse, not bad at all. I bought the lift system so I have no problems with driveways. Nothing negative to say about the car. Go get one!!!! Matt
the local dealer has a 2010 blue/orange gt3/rs on display in the showroom. he is discounting the car. how well will this vehicle hold its value, compared to the 911 turbo, for example??
Time will tell. It also depends on what you do with the car. Alot of GT3's are tracked. Not as many turbo's go to the track. Four years from now a turbo buyer is looking something different than the GT3 RS buyer, IMHO. Matt
I was at the Porsche dealer yesterday and they had a 2010 grey with orange-ish accents GT3 RS mk2 for 163K and right next to it was a 2011 Cayenne Turbo for 136K. I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to buy the Cayenne and not buying the GT3 RS for just that little bit more. I know they are different cars, but that GT3 RS is NASTY!
Obviously great for the track, but would you recommend taking the wife out to the city on a Friday night? Specifically the seat comfort?
I too have been very suprised (pleased) on how it drives just around town.........not an issue at all actually, well unless you're in a boatload of stop-and-go with the heavier clutch. Or lets put it this way........... when the SportCups wear out, I'm slapin on some PS2's and will take a long trip or three !!!! Its a purely outstanding car all around.
