Where does the tow hook screw into on the 599 GTB? Can't seem to locate it.

From my search on FChat I found that one owner couldn't locate his and another owner said his didn't fit because the angle was wrong.

Mike- Page 152 of your owner's manual. Looks like it is in the upper right hand (starboard side) part of the grille opening under a plastic plug. Did not find the plug in the parts catalog yet. Beat me to it.

Ahh.. there is a cap that covers over the hole. That's probably why I couldn't find it. Thanks!

My tow hook is located on the winch of the Landoll......

Seriously, you aren't going to USE IT???

Just screw it in to look 'racy"....I wouldn't ever use it.
If you've seen a chain break you know why........both ends GO somewhere!!!

Ray- No, AF and fighters. Same protocols. I always try to think of things as viewed from the driver's seat or cockpit.

At track days the installation of the tow-hook is mandatory in order to go race on the track. At least that's the case in Europe.

But with regard to the strength in case of a chain break, the mounting points on the 599 must be strong enough to withstand the force? Surely you buy a towing cable that is able to pull like 10 tons in stead of the 599 weight of "just" 1.6 tons?
