Other news sites say that the 19-year-old driver is in critical condition and went into surgery at 4 p.m. that day. Hope he makes it.

    My god. Is he insane?!?!

    That's ridiculous.

    Hope he makes it through.

$10 says he won't be doing too many 100mph blasts on the highway anymore...

I sincerely hope he survives but what an idiot. If it hadn't been for the bridge he would have ended up crashing into opposite traffic most likely causing fatalities.

He'll probably sue the state for negligently building a bridge in his flight path.

"Police are investigating to see what role, if any, speed played in the crash."

    I'll take the over.

Biggest question is... Why was the cruiser cruising in the far left lane of the interstate? I'm not condoning the victim's actions, but the cop was in the wrong lane.

Just one of my biggest pet peeves.

Victim should get a large ticket and spanking by a prison inmate named bubba, or since they're in Miami, the inmate could be named Jose.

huh? why can't police cars drive in the left lane?

and it was Miami Ohio, not Miami FL.

Left lane is a passing lane, unless you're passing or moving at a rate of speed that's above everyone else's you shouldn't be in the far left lane police or common citizen. I'm definately not saying the police officer caused this. It's just the first thing that comes to mind when I see this video.

Edit: Lol I didn't realize he was in Miami, Ohio.

I believe, I could be wrong, the police officer was in the left lane trying to slow the Firebird. They were already chasing the kid so he knew he was coming.

    +1

Oh I missed that part, I read that he was released earlier for drug possession and having an open bottle of beer in the car. The report I read just mentioned that he had been passing cars on the left shoulder of the road. As a driver as many of us are, we all know that touching grass is never something you want to do at any speed lol. You never can be sure what the cars going to do when you get on that slippery stuff.

If this is true I dont wish him a recovery. In fact I wish him the exact opposite.
