Yummy.... with hardtop fitted: http://www.symbolicmotors.com/detail-1959-mercedes~benz-300sl-roadster-used-5615983.html
I just remembered that I think the last couple of hundred roadster engines were aluminium blocks, whilst the gullwing and the vast majority of roadsters (they built approx. 1800 roadsters vs 1400 gullwings) were iron block. However, as far as I am aware, engine capacity remained the same. So, I suppose the most collectible roadster would be the disc brake with aluminium block.
Looks great with the hardtop. That car needs a huge detail underneath and in the engine bay. They go to all the trouble of taking such good photo's than don't bother to detail the car, weird!
Yep! lol! If I saw that car on a lift like that, they'd have trouble holding me back from going straight for the cleaning products.
It's not a Jag! I have never worked on a hardtop off a 300 but I presume they would be steel like a 190.
I'm not happy a Silver Cloud 3 I wanted to buy,has been sold without me even getting a chance to buy it.
thats the problem.I was happy to pay more then what it sold for! IMO I drive those cars better then anyone else. I'm not happy,it was the best in Australia and fab colour combo.
to late. Oh well wonder if the new owner knows its early history. Wonder if his broker mate knows or cares.
Had conformation that a Tucker is appearing here, just been purchased by a Melburnian, this is the first Tucker to appear in OZ.
I and a Ferrari would go the distance? You forget I had the BB at the same time similar value,I kept the Jag.
