I bought my CS in May never having driven one before, and I love it. I had a 997 GT3 which just didn't work for me, I had a 996 GT3 for 3 years which I loved, sold it and got the newer version but after 6 months had to go and hello CS. Ferrari's are just so very special, it's not just the speed but the whole sensation, which for me at any rate a regular Porsche just does not have. However I have a 550 and I am married to that, the CS is maybe just an affair.... A younger more obviously beautiful, faster chick, but would I get rid of the long termer??? With stripe ,without stripe it doesn't matter ... I love them all. Congrats. Tell us how you found your car and why, with 35 or so for sale, you chose that particular one?
Congratulations on the CS! The CS and the 550 make a wonderful couple! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was looking for months over the internet etc, I wanted red with the alcantera interior, relatively low miles and preferably from a Ferrari dealer to make me feel comfortable. Most at the time were the wrong color, reading through Ferrari chat had some issues, some dealers were just too dodgy, some started with ridiculous prices and were very arrogant, a few had modifications (no thanks), leather -no thanks and finally I found this one at Miller Motorcars it passed inspection, no paint ever, brand new service belt change etc, just under 10K miles, it had qualified for the Ferrari used car warranty and it just felt right. I bought it through a broker here in Texas -he sold my Porsches (and in Texas you pay sales tax on the net difference, if it is a deal through a licensed motor dealer). So out of all the cars for sale in fact there were very few that were under consideration, (the black flagged car is an example of I just don't want that at all) and of course I want to be able to sell it whenever to the previous history was of paramount importance. Hope that answers your question.
the stripe is a personal preference thing of course, and i like them with our without, altho the one that finally checked out for me mechanically and pricewise, happpened to have a stripe. so since i am stuck with it anyway, i now like it. besides that, everybody knows the stripe makes it go faster !
You are right of course, I do feel completely emasculated without the stripe, just knowing that you are faster gives me a feeling of complete insecurity, I think I shall go to lunch and contemplate my stripeless future....
Congrats on the new aquisition! Perfect stablemate to your 550. In a perfect world I would have two Stradales. A Nero on black/red alcantara without stripe for cruises, backroads, and any "normal" driving. I would also have a Rosso Corsa CS with the stripe and lexan windows for track use only (and maybe the occasional show/meet). Both with race harnesses. But like I said, that's in a perfect world, and we all know this world is far from perfect But I'll take a CS either way
Did I see this car a the Ferrari of Houston tour Saturday? There were three red CS's present, one with a strip, two without (one of which was mine).
Congratulations on negotiating your way successfully through the 'swamp' that the marketplace can be for the unwary. Finding a nice Stradale that met your requirements is something we always enjoy reading about here! For some the 'chase' is half the fun. Thanks CH
You would never believe it even if I or Stokpro told you..... However if you have a collection of Hooters or any other appropriate 2 legged bird species, they can fiddle with the uniqueness all day. Under my supervision of course!
