boats don't have an odometer to tell you total distance travelled since day 1 ... the gps will tell u distance travelled when on for the run. but resets once system is shut down. the standard in boats is engine running hours. and thus u have a TBO - time between overhaul. typically 2,500-3,000 hours on yachts like these. so typically one has to maintain a logbook documenting trip details, passengers on board, various engine parameters, running hours, problems, and it can be as detailed or as basic as one wants. i use a computerized logbook hooked up to the boats' systems ... as a result, engine data gets fed automatically to the software.
