    Since there seems to be some confusion between 250TR #0738 and #0758, the following is Branko's description of the history of #0758's interesting life and some pictures of it's decline, presented in chronological order. In addition to the real #0758, there is apparently also a replica of a pontoon 250TR in Europe using that serial number.

    ======================================
    Anamera states the following about 0758:

    0758TR was delivered to Jose Miguel Galia of Venezuela it was raced by him in 1958, '59 and 1969. In 1959 Mauricio Marcotulli raced it in "La Trinidad" and in the GP Maracaibo. the car was "modernized with a Corvette engine, rear axle and disc brakes for Fernando BAIZthe wheels were much wider then the car. In 1981 it was imported to Italy by Edoardo Magnone he owned the remains since 1976. In 1980 Schouwenburg claimed in the Ferrari Owners Club Register he owned 0758, one of his many stories. In 1981 Massimo Colombo owned 0758 and sold it to Pietro Brigato. Since 2004 it is owned by Lukas Hueni, it is now painted white with a central blue stripe.

    ========================================

    The book Ferrari Testa Rossa V-12 (http://books.google.com/books?id=9ZZewXVdEHsC&lpg=PA245&ots=9OH2cf9RyU&dq=ferrari%200738%20crashed&pg=PA245#v=onepage&q&f=false) states the following about 0758 [apparently the book was written before the car's restoration]:

    "0758 - A standard customer car completed in July 1958 and shipped to Caracas, Venezuela for Carlos Kauffman. It was sold to Jose Miguel Galia who raced it on a number of occassions. The chassis is now in Holland but has been so extensively modified over the years that hardly anything Testa Rossa remains...."

    ============================
    This is the list of owners of 0758 while in Venezuela.

    Mauricio Marcotulli wins in la Trinidad 58 and 59

    JM Galia, won only one race to my knowledge in 1960, Cumbres de Curumo, car sat a few years in Varona´s shop.

    Rodrigo Borges, had it painted red, raced 2 times in 1966 no wins, traded the car for an AC converted to Cobra locally.

    Winston Chebly owned the car just one week, traded the car for a Formula car with 1300 Reanault engine made by Ernesto Piovesan.

    Ernesto Piovesan used as street car, sold to Colaretta in 20.000 Bs, less than 5000 $

    Colaretta also used it as a street car (havent found his fist name yet), sells to Fernando Baiz.

    Fernando Baiz raced it, no wins to my knowledge, blows engine and has a Corvette suspension and other components installed with a Traco engine, sells to Bobby Brinzey.

    Bobby Brinzey, uses it in some drag racing, sells to Tito Feijoo.

    Tito Feijoo, uses it for road racing and starts the final metamorphosis, doesnt look like a TR250 anymore, sells to Edoardo Magnone.

    Edoardo Magnone, exports it to Italy in 1980.

    jjmcd I often ask myself, will the list of owners be corrected at any time?
    First owner was Mauricio Marcotulli, lots of evidence, why people insist on Galia, no odea, I finally found out the first name one of the owners it is Gianni Colaretta, and some evidence shows another owner before Tito Feijoo.

    I couldn't find any reasons given why it had the CanAm body. The language barrier didn't help.

    Just speculation on my part, but the Can-Am body was probably added because, by that time (early 1970s), (1) the pontoon body was probably getting pretty haggard (and may have been crashed - see pic #4 in post #8 above), (2) the pontoon body looked pretty odd with the wider-track Chevy rear end, (3) it was "old fashioned" and the Can-Am body was "modern", and (4) the owner got the Can-Am body cheap.

    I was asking about the body and the answer given by Giotto was a link to that thread. Read my post. I made no comment about your thread per se, just that it didn't answer my question about the CanAm body. Sending me PMs when you're not getting an answer immediatly is irritating, though. Please refrain from doing that.

    Considering the photos in this thread I'm not shocked to find that the Venezuelans aren't improving their international relationship with Ferrari enthusiasts. :D

    It's like seeing the aftermath of a sex-change operation.. performed on Marilyn Monroe.

    note edits made today based on discussion I had today at lunch w/ my fater and uncle bobby. my edits are in quotes and dated.

"All the conversion work was completed for Baiz by Earnesto Piovesan." (edit by pcb 8/26/2010)

    Bobby Brinzey "paints it blue" (edit by pcb 8/26/2010) , road races it once (edit by pcb 8/26 2010), uses it in some drag racing, "sells it to a family member from a house nearby...apparently the gentleman stayed in town for 15 days or long enough to convince bobby to sell it. he then drove the car straight to maricaibo w/ no radiator fans or cooling beyond the aluminum harrison radiator! Tito Fiejoo buys it next and as my uncle says was a criminal to have destroyed the testa rossa body!" (edit by pcb 8/27/2010)

    sells to Tito Feijoo.

    Tito Feijoo, uses it for road racing and starts the final metamorphosis, doesnt look like a TR250 anymore, sells to Edoardo Magnone.

    Edoardo Magnone, exports it to Italy in 1980.

    I Also have new findings to add.

    This is the list of owners of 0758 while in Venezuela.

    Marcotulli races it at Ciudad Ojeda, Sept 59 and it gets the most unusual result, it was a "Draw" between Marcotulli and Chimeri in 0726 ( it is written this way in a Marcotulli's manuscript, I was also told that the trophy was cut in two.

    Found out the the complete name, it was Gianni Colaretta

    Fernando Baiz raced it, no wins to my knowledge, blows engine and has a Corvette suspension and other components installed with a Traco engine, sells to Bobby Brinzey. "All the conversion work was completed for Baiz by Earnesto Piovesan." (edit by pcb 8/26/2010)

    The name of this buyer was Guillermo Montero (el Mono Montero) who sold to Tito Feijoo, now I undestand why in some of the old documents that were found it says it was blue.

    sells to Tito Feijoo.

    Tito Feijoo, uses it for road racing and starts the final metamorphosis, doesnt look like a TR250 anymore, sells to Edoardo Magnone.

    Edoardo Magnone, exports it to Italy in 1980.

    hi branko,

    yes bobby is here for 3 weeks and we will have much more to discuss. we actually discussed the aston martin yesterday too. i was not aware that you knew of that one too!! i should have known:)

    baiz sold the car to uncle bobby in trade...bobby had an camero w/ 4 x 2bbl webers on it and baiz took the car and gave bobby some cash and 0758!!!

    not sure on el mono montero...bobby thinks he was not really involved with cars. i will get confirmation on that for you tomorrow.
