    Hello John,
Mike has been there the last couple of years. I sure hope to see him this year too. I will be driving a 1955 Frasier Nash LeMans coupe'. Very cool car. One of eight built and this one has a period LeMans history.

    Hi Everyone,

Some of you may remember me, I was the president of the FCA New Mexico Chapter. About 3 years ago I participated in a drive from Denver to Castle Rock with some of you, I drove a red 328 with NM plates.

Anyway, I'm leaving in the Eagle Valley, and just getting back into the car scene. I'm currently helping with the organization of the 1st Vail Classic (www.vailautoshow.com).

Our first show will be held at the Eagle/Vail Airport on Saturday, September 11th. On Sunday all cars will be relocated to Vail and will be displayed on the streets of Vail between Lionshead and the Village.

We are currently coordinating with the organizers of the Colorado Grand to have their participants displaying their vehicle with ours.

Please consider joining us for this great event.

If anyone has any questions regarding this event, please PM me.

    Thanks,

    Milton

Nice showing at the Vail Automotive Classic! This show is really going to turn into something special. I will try to stop by Lionshead Mall this Friday but there is still so much to do getting ready for the Colfax Cruise this Saturday.

I went up Sunday with Mark for a bit as well, here are a few of the photos. I wasn't completely prepared to photo in a dark parking garage, but gave it a few shots anyhow.

What a treat watching and listening to the tour motor its way up Brush Creek Road yesterday afternoon and on up to Snowmass. Sadly, I'm told, no public 'showing' up here, but I'm poised to watch and listen as they make their way downhill this am and back to 82. Happily, our roadways are in pretty good repair this year.
Definitly, earplugs for some of the open cars! ( and the 'old school' head gear and googles are pretty cool, too )

Unreal. Wish my garage looked like that!

Are the cars parked indoors only prior to the start, or are there covered/protected parking accommodations throughout the event? I'd be interested in doing this one someday.

How are ya Bullfighter! I believe you apply to be in the event....they turn applications away every year. Some cars are shipped in internationally. Had a chance to talk with one the directors at Cars&Coffee earlier this year. The event sounds really fascinating with a highly protected route. Agree...it would be really cool to be part of it. I think i want to see if can volunteer to help out sometime.

    Jon,

The cars are parked in a parking garage prior to the start but I don't think they are parked in covered parking throughout the whole course, though I could be wrong about that.

It's a tough event to get into. Obviously the level of cars that participate are at the top of the heap. Sports race cars, road cars with interesting histories, and pre-war cars are the types that are admitted.

I have had the chance of watching the cars being unloaded and prepared for the event and I have to say, given the type of cars I was viewing (Ferrari sport racers, Buggatis, pre-war Alfa-Romeos, etc.) it was basically on the level of Pebble Beach.

It's a sleeper event but for those in the know, it's world class.

The photo op as the cars past the Snowmass Balloon vest in the early am yesterday was amazing. I'll see what I've got and can post. Talked to a few drivers at the Conoco station as they stopped to refuel. The high passes seemed to have taken a toll on a some, but most seemed in good spirits. Why not? Perfect weather and temps up here. Someone must be detailing the cars each pm, as they were CLEAN.
They're in Steamboat today, I think. The CHP escort I talked with briefly said it was a bit like herding cats, but we all knew that ! Someday
