I meant to call out the great results for Kubica and Massa. Too bad Kub lost it in the pits...he deserved second. Wait, he had an unforced error and Webber took advantage. I guess he got the result he deserved, but still a good drive for an ever-improving Renault. Alonso is his own worst enemy this season...
Webber ended up in 5th simply by getting off the line very slowly at the start. The other four just calmly drove right past him. Rubens locked up under braking when it just began to rain and shunted Alonso from behind. Miraculously, Alonso was able to continue once he got back on track. Rubens lost a front wheel and was out of the race. Crimson mist is right with Vettel. All the best, Andrew.
Is Hamilton 5'4" or something? Webber and Kubica are taller than him on the lower podium steps. I know both guys are close to 6', but they make Lewis look like a midget.
Congrats to Lewis... besides his 1 off in the rain, he was really unopposed for the whole race. Webber does a fantastic job to get back to 2nd after 7th place after lap1. He should be the No2 No1 driver now Vettel stuffing up Buttons race and his own... and his season? Alonso no points Massa 4th Mistake by Kubica in the pits cost him 2nd place. :\ Schumie did well to get 7th but lost out to his teamie near the end. definitely - glad Massa showed up crybaby and it wasn't a Sunday afternoon Funeral Procession. (Is, you'd love my new rescue baby, 14 wk staffie mix deaf/blind little boy - taking him to Austin today for a seminar.) Carol
Another fruitless season for Ferrari. Why did Luca force out Schu, Brawn and Todt again? I know you have to have a succession plan, but I think he jumped the gun.
Schumacher wasn't forced out, he was offered the seat next to Kimi and preferred to retire. Brawn also left on his own. That said I'm not happy with the "Italiazation" of the team either. Pick the best there are, not the best Italians.
Last add: Button got royally screwed by Crimson Mist. If there is anyone on the grid for whom qualifying does not determine his results, it's Button. Vettel (C.M.) looked like he had the speed to pass and just had misfortune with the changing conditions, but it just seems like he's taking someone out every weekend now.
Alonso is leading Massa in the points but... Image Unavailable, Please Login "Hi Fernando. Felipe completed the whole race. Felipe completed the whole race. Can you confirm you understand?" Hehehe - another shameless dig at Alonso. All the best, Andrew.
Unofficial stories are that Luca wanted MS to retire and pushed him out in order to get Kimi as his replacement (and continue the winning into the future). Also, he wouldn't guarantee Brawn team principal when Todt retired, so he sought employment elsewhere.
Stab all you want, you're bet is still going down. Hahaha! On a different note: Am I the only one who hates it when Speed TV calls Kubica "Bobby"? This ain't NASCRAP racin' boyz, the man has a proper name and it is Robert.
I don't know... Mercedes seem to be improving. I'm still hopeful for that 8th Schumacher title in 2011 or 2012. It irritates me too. On the plus side, I watch most of the year's races on the BBC so don't usually have to put up with it. All the best, Andrew.
Oh c'mon. Dont rewrite history now. You like everybody else on here saw the reports and statements coming out: MS had a valid offer for 2007 being next to Kimi in the team. He didn't want it because he feared loosing his #1 status and that Kimi could beat him. The only thing MS was "forced" was to make a decision because he was trying to postpone that until the end of the seasson and LdM didn't want any part of it. None of this is new and it is all well documented. So don't act as if I'm making this up.
