Well it seems to be a good time to shop for a Daytona. Does anyone know anything about Ferrosa in Switzerland? They have what appears to be a beautiful dark blue Daytona on offer. And I'm looking for a more unusual color. I'm always hesitant when trying to qualify cars that I probably won't see before purchasing. Any assistance or thoughts will be appreciated.

It appears to be Blu Scuro Dino and if perhaps not exactly, it's quite close.

So the car used to be white when new, but now it is blue......fair enough, got no problem with that.......but for some reason however, and it obviously appears I am wrong here, I though a Classiche car had to be original to form as it was when it left the factory.

Seems like the Corvette guys have higher standards as to authenticity when they hand out certificates at NCRS or Bloomington Gold, etc.......but then again, you don't pay GM for those either.

And if (Certified ?) U.S.-delivery, what about the missing Dinoplex's, D.O.T.-tag, most of the smog-equipment, etc... ? ;)

I am not trying to pick the car apart but the fact that the exhaust has been changed to stainless steel in my mind ruins the Daytona sound. and why did they take the date of manufacture placard and put it in the enigine compartment where the Dinoplex's are supposed to be. I can see they are trying to make it a Euro look , but if that is the case why put the manufacture sticker in the engine bay , its seems strange to me. Having said that the car does look good in the pictures but as we all know you would have to see this car in person.

Motorcar Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale has Daytona No. 16543, U.S. version, factory A/C, Borrani wire wheels, 21,356 miles, Nocciola/tan. Asking price is $328,500. Nocciola would seem to qualify as an "unusual color". I have no financial or other interest in this car or Motorcar Gallery. Just passing along info. <www.motorcargallery.com>.

Has the blue car been for sale quite a while? I remember a car of the same colour, for sale in Europe at the end of last year, but i am not sure if its the same one.

One Daytona owner found his old Nocciola 1972 Spyder again from 35 years earlier. He owns a Nocciola coupe and repurchased his old Spyder and had it restored to it's original factory color.

The niciola color is unusual, but on a large car like the Daytona, that's a lot of gold. I'm really thinking more along the lines of blue, possibly black. Thanks so much for the feedback. FC is an awesome resource!

Here is a great example of a USA market black 1971 Daytona coupe that features the nicely contrasting silver nose. It also has the tan interior with contrasting stripes on the seats. This was a mostly original paint car that unfortunately is sold now...

There is a perfect blue Daytona coupe for sale that was at the Cavallino Classic back in 2008. It also features a tan interior. That car would be closer to 400k USD though and comes with wires and a spare set of the factory mags to.

Strange they did not change the reversing light [ B-U light as Timo says], when they removed the side markers!

...or even easier, the rear reflectors ? I do appreciate the fact that who ever did or commissioned these changes was probably aiming to make the car to their personal liking, but what's with this "Certification" then...hmm ? Or, what was it again about that cat and curiosity....?

Blue Dino - interesting color. Not for everyone , but very cool! The thread on the restoration by Boblieff was a testament to bringing a car back to life.

Blu Scuro Dino is a lot darker, solid (non-metallic) blue with sort of a slight hue of purple in it and on a cloudy day, or at dusk or dawn, looks closer to black than blue. Quite different from 16989s color.
