Welcoming the Challenge Stradale and enjoying a nice day to clean out the stable and wash the F40, which was muddy. Thanks to fellow FChatter (Scott40) for correctly representing such a wonderful car through the sales process. I know it was hard to part with such a wonderful machine, it will be well looked after.

Wonderful! It is as though you welcomed Seatle Slew to your stable with War Admiral, Secretariat, and Citation.

I've started to write and hit backspace about 5 times, I'm just not sure how to answer this. How about a scenario where it's a nice Sunday morning, say 6:30am and the sun is just coming up. Fall day, leaves are changing and you've had a few cups of coffee and read the paper. Now it's time to go for a drive, which car do you take?

The F40 and 288 GTO are legendary and evoke different driving experiences and emotions just because of what they are, so I'm going to say they are equal. F40 is louder and more work than the GTO and I would take the CS before the 458. The 458 is terrific but not the same feel (weight & balance & engine note) and the CS I think wins on excitement over the Italia.

Put it this way. If I took the 458 and CS to a car show and a kid got into each car without permission, while holding a slurpee, I would get the kid in the Challenge Stradale out first. Shhh, don't tell anyone.

There is something to be said for jumping into the market well after the frenzy has died down. The days of million dollar F40's and GTO's seem over for now. Long after they represented the latest and greatest with a 'silly tax' to match their hype.
The Stradale seems to be the sleeper with relative bargain prices in the current market. That's mostly thanks to it's age now, not to mention the onward march of what some people call 'progress'.
    Exceptionally nice group.
