This might be a stupid question, but does the signed engine compartment cost money, or is it simply an ordering box check?

it's not a stupid question but i have a stupid answer: I have no idea. I saw the Euro prices for the options when i was at the factory for the launch, and I remember some option pricing, but the dealer here had no option pricing available. So I remember the price for the paint and a few other options - carbon engine surround is about $10k, for example - but I just ordered a car with no real idea of the cost. now, isn't that a stupid answer?

the signed engine compartment is not even on the option list, so I can only assume that, knowing Ferrari, it is not a no-cost option.

Congrats on your spec! Will be incredible!

Regarding building them all this year, it seems a bit different for us. Father and I are going to Atelier at the end of September to spec so will probably come several months into 2011.

    Congratulations Joseph!

I have seen a 599 GTO painted in Rosso Fuoco parked on a street not long ago. It looked wonderful. It was so pretty that it almost hurt. I think you will love it (and not just the color)!

Thanks and ... you are welcomed.

Congratulations. RF is a great colour and will look fabulous on a GTO. Certainly looking forward to seeing pictures of that one ;)

They charged me € 800.00 excl. VAT for it.

M, This set of pictures really captures your GTO and does it justice. Next time you see him get his card and ask him if he ever does any work stateside! Am I wrong or did I hear correctly that you have been waiting for a set of black painted rims that you had spec'd for your car. The carbon fiber wheel caps look great and black rims would really set it off. I spec'd mine with some of the same options including black rims and carbon wheel caps. My order has gone 10 Red and all thats left now is the waiting.

    :) ;)

I agree. These pictures came out really nice. You are correct about the black rims. I'm still waiting for these to be delivered. I'm hoping this is going to get resolved soon as this will be the cherry on the cake for me. Will make the car look much more aggressive.

Good luck with the wait and looking forward to seeing plenty of pictures of your beauty ;)

Your car looks great M. And probs to the photographer.

I think I would have difficulties to leave a GTO parked in a street. If I catch somebody keying it I would probably beat him to death.

BTW, M, Any News About your black wheels ?? Can't wait to see them installed.

Nope, not a word. Then again ... August is a holiday month in Italy so I didn't expect to hear much. But now it is September so the "hunt" is on again :)

    Those are some nice pictures.

It's great to see that you're driving your car around and enjoying it.
