360/430. To tint or not to tint windows.

I'm debating whether or not to light tint the windows of a 360.
Car is in South Florida, and although I avoid driving it in scorching summer sun, it could use a soft tint.
Since I don't recall seeing one of these cars with tinted windows, I wonder if this has any negative effect on overall appearance and value.

 

Tints dont effect value as they just get peeled off when you go to sell.

 

IMO: A personal choice. I do not think it will have any impact to the value of the car in either way. May be tougher to see out at night?

In any cases, you can remove the tint very easily (maybe $100 cost or DIY) if you did not like it anymore for any reasons.

 

Are planning to tint the window over the engine bay? You should check to make sure the tint you use won't bubble or peel from the engine heat.

If you live in a year round climate like Florida. Tinting any car or truck makes perfect sense.

 

I think it would look good on a black car. Yellow probably too. Any other color I'm just not too much of a fan

 

I think tinting is silly!

 

I vote no on the tint.

 

Tinting provides a degree of anonymity which can be most helpfull in a car that oozes stares from onlookers but I'd recommend to not go any darker than a 35% visible light transmission.

Don't film the engine bay glass as that is a visual feature of the glass and the machine.
It serves no purpose at all to provide privacy.

I would also suggest a non reflective film in order to not interfere with any electronics in the car.
Metalised films can do that....eg. GPS, bluetooth, remote central locking proximity distance etc..

A great film suggestion is the Madico manufacturer based in Boston and that would be a product called Charcool....you'll be able to find a dealer anywhere who has access to that.

I've had my car for 3+ years now, I just got my windows tinted 5 months ago. It really changed the look.
Most of the time in good weather my windows are down anyway.
But, I did have to upgrade to CF mirrors because the mirrors really stick out after I tinted the windows. RED MIRROR. Black background, not good. At least that was the excuse I told Bridgett.

I know you have had your car for a while also, get them tinted. If you don't like it get it removed. I think you will like it.

We will be in Sobe in January again, we need plan a get together.

I'm planning to tint only the side windows and the small rear ones.

 

I think the prior owner of my car lived in Texas or FL, so by the time I got the car the side windows were already tinted a nice medium neutral grey; not too dark. I like the added privacy and the reduced effect of the sun on the interior when it's parked and really, it looks like the way the car could have come from the factory. If you live in a hot, sunny place, I say go for it.

 

Hi Scott ! Thanks for the recommendation. Rob's suggestion is also well received, and yes, since my car is yellow, putting a light tint (35% or less) will not be bad at all. Not only to help keep the interior cooler, but also to provide a certain degree on anonimity (hard to accomplish with an F car).
Now, where do I take it to get tinted ???

 

Perhaps you might be able to ask your local dealer of some places? Sometimes they have tints done to customer's vehicles right away and if they frequently deal high-line vehicles, they probably know some good locations in your area.

 

The 430 requires the door trim to ideally come off.

This is because the door has drop down glass once it is opened.

The internal weather strip is very tight on the doors and you don't want a tinter to trip the lock so the glass pops up and then tucks the bottom edge of the film just under the seal....bad as it can dog ear the leading bottom edge in time causing a lift.

I think it looks great on a yellow car. And the amount of heat reduction inside is noticeable.

i dont think it will affect value either

 

I prefer no tint. I think it a personal choice,- but I think it makes the car look cheap.

 

these cars aren't really known for having stellar A/C systems... The tints make a huge difference in cabin temperature as somone mentioned earlier.

Also, if you ever take your car out for the day and have to leave it parked in direct sunlight, it's good to have some tints on the windows too.

I came back from the beach last weekend driving home in some serious sun... I was really happy that i could hide behind the tints. Had more than enough of the sun.

Makes a difference, and it's easy to do.

 

Let me clarify that....it's easy to organise but very difficult to do......... BRILLIANTLY!

Quick & to the point- I couldn't agree more! I bought 2 cars where I told the seller my purchase was contingent on them getting all of the tint off with no residue left behind or damage!
