Hey guys, I'm new to this website and need little help. I'm in the process of buying 2007 430 spider (1900 miles on it) from Ohio, a small auto dealer. I live in California. Is all Ferrari sold in U.S. meet strict standard of California emission law?
I did a PPI by an authorized Ferrari dealer and got a clean report. It has one year extended warranty remaining. Is there anything you guys can recommend or I should consider when buying this car? Any feedback would be a great help. Thanks.

You may wish to let us know where in Ohio- may be some here from that area possibly that could have more info on it as well as possibly giving it a once over for you..

ask the dealer to tell you what # of the clutch wear is left. this info can be easily obtained by the service technician when he connects the computer umbilical cord to the 430. if the car has only 1.9K miles and was not driven hard, you should have over 80% of the clutch remaining. with a manufacturer's warranty, you wont have much to worry about, AS LONG AS THE CAR WAS NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT!!!!

I bought my car without a PPI bc it was only 18 months old with 2016 miles. I checked for accidents and open campaigns with both of my local dealers. All checked out. It had a 18 months left on factory warranty which definitely made me rest easier on the no PPI decision. The warranty is nice as several things have been repaired at no cost.

I think all US cars are the same. Ask the dealer to be sure.

BTW. Good luck with the purchase and post some pictures. We love new car pics.

Thanks everyone for your feedback. The car is being shipped this Tuesday, and I should get it in about a week or so. I'll post some pics once I get it.

make sure all the campaign updates were done or get them done while under warranty as the 430 had several that needed completion.

    Hey guys,

I just took delivery of my 430 this late afternoon and brought it home. Took 6 days to get here but now it sits nicely in my garage. I'm so excited! It was kind of stressful driving it home today. Didn't want to wreck it, haha. Here is a rough picture of it in my garage.

A previous owner installed something on the car. I see a data cable coming out of vanity mirror area. Anybody know what this is for? Radar detector?

My boss has a coupe exactly like this and it's gorgeous. Challenge wheels rule!

Good luck with it and don't let it scare you. It's just a machine.

My suggestion is to find whoever you are going to have work on it now -- before it needs service. Given that the warranty is still on it, I would start with the dealer. And, for sure, you should make sure all the campaigns have been done on it. With such small mileage, it's possible it hasn't been looked at by a dealer in some time.

Also, F430's need annual service even if they are not driven. You should look at the records -- hopefully from the dealer -- to see what was done and when.

Enjoy it and drive it often. The F430 is a wonderful car.

And I believe that same cable works for Escort radar detectors, too. Congrats on the car!

Great news... I bought my 2007 430 spider 13 months ago. It is awsome! What did you pay for your new machine? Was it from a Ferrari Dealer?

    Good luck and have fun

Hey guys, thanks for letting me know what that cable is. I was thinking that it might be for a radar detector but it didn't look like power cord but rather a CAT5 data cable.

I bought it from a small, non-Ferrari dealer and paid 172K.
