Hell, We used to sell those at my Grandpa's grocery store all summer long... Had a rotisserie at the butcher shop with 3-4 racks of chickens and 2-3 racks of Cow and Sheep heads...
    Waxy is my witness :)

Back when I lived in Saudi Arabia, I ordered baby camel once in a fancy restaurant.
Yikes, was it bad! Tasted dusty.
I said it was like taking the vacuum bag out of a vacuum cleaner when it was full of dust & dirt and cooking it in an oven.
After a few bites, I ordered a different dinner.

Wow, I now think that eating 2 foot Deep Fried Frog legs, which is my craziest thing I have eaten, is completely normal.

Yellow Sally. Lots of rattlesnake and other snakes. Menudo. Blood Sausage. Snails, naturally. Sheep's head looked OK cooked, not too pretty uncooked.

OK, you got my vote. Never heard of it so I had to look it up... Just Dayum!!!
    The descriptive line that got me was this...;
"When opened, the contents release a strong and sometimes overwhelming odor,
which explains why the dish is often eaten outdoors
    ".

Tapir. A little on the chewy side, but not bad at all.

This seems so mundane compared to many of the other worldly culinary experiences but I have to say it stuck out in my mind as it is the only time that, as an adult, I was introduced to a whole new vocabulary taste.

Last year I had the privilege of eating sea urchin which had been caught (harvested?) less than 2 hours prior. I ate it in the traditional Japanese manner...on rice and pressing it into the roof of my mouth until the urchin melted down onto my tongue and then chewing.

I've eaten strange things, but the taste was always some combination of things I had eaten before. Not this time...it was like hearing a word made of phonemes my vocal chords couldn't reproduce. Not only that, I've never had the taste of any food change so abruptly in my mouth. As soon as a chewed with the rice it was like a chemical reaction had taken place and I was eating something entirely different. Crazy.

    Picture?

Sea turtle: Had it as a kid before it was illegal- tastes like beef and not worth making the things extinct.
Shark: There's tastier fish out there, I don't like them any more than they like us.
De-boned pig's feet: Fantastic. How can porkyness ever be bad?
    Baby eels (angulas): Very good
    Raw Abalone: Crunchy ocean
    Squid Jerky: Fishy and chewy.
    Puerto Rican blood sausage: Insipid.
    Spanish blood sausage: Aromatic.
Huitlacoche: Corn fungus- not weird at all in Mexico, and really good.
    Veal Cheeks: Really, really good.
Raw conch: Chewy. Better when pressure cooked (think octopus).
Alligator: White meat tastes like chicken, dark meat tastes fishy.
Loco Moco: Not crazy, just a weird combination, but.... with a cold beer its the best combo after a day of surfing/windsurfing you can imagine.
Otoro: Again, not crazy, but hard to get stateside and melt in your mouth goodness.
Oh, yeah, and a certain number of bug parts as permitted by the FDA in my Cocoa Krispies!

I used to have a business associate that would only go to steak houses- Once I offered to take him to the best sushi joint in town and he said he didn't eat "bait". Shortsighted idiot.

    Great, now I'm hungry!

Yum. Me want! Those things have inflicted enough pain on me through the years, time for me to get back at them. :)

I had to look that one up. Didn't even know there was such a thing.

You know, I can probably bring myself to consume dead, cooked insects, but I think I would have to draw the line at live maggots.

Then again, you should try everything once, right?

I've heard prairie oysters are quite good. They're on my radar screen, but haven't had the opportunity yet.

I've eaten a wide variety of critters that some might consider crazy:

    Alligator
    Ants
    Bear
    Dog
    Frog
    (live)Shrimp
    Silkworms
    Snails
    Squirrel
    Turtle

And probably many more that I can't think of right now. Personally, I don't consider any of these to be crazy. Some were tasty (dog) and others were repulsive (squirrel).

This, on the other hand, was CRAZY. After a few soju shots, it could be a struggle just to get these things in your mouth, not to mention forcing them down. They cling to your face, your tongue, your teeth, and anything else that they can get their suckers on in a desperate attempt to avoid your stomach:

Nothing could be scarier than a gallon jar filled with pickled pigs feet and hard boiled eggs in a roadside bar in rural Montana.
When exactly were these items inserted into this jar??????
