Just saw where Anamera shows that Chris Evans recently sold his SWB Cali for $5mm. Which means he took a $5mm hit to unload it. WTF? I don't know what to make of this. Anyone care to chime in on this?

I may be missing something but it looks like old information: "As of 5/20/2008"

The car pictured in the article is not 2377GT.

Then where is the front bumper and rear bumper? That is a different California.

When the photo was taken, they were probably in Chris's garage.

So, you state the article is inaccurate based up on your opinion that the car shown in the picture is not 2377 GT (which it is).

Do you have anything substantial to confirm this article is false?

I strongly believe that is his other California, but I could be wrong.

My mistake I believed this to be another California. I retract my previous statement, I would delete my prior post if I could.

    No worries....

So now, do we know if this car was genuinely traded?

The price does not seem right at all as I am fairly sure the underbidder at the RM Auction would still be fairly keen to get his hands on this car...
Also, the vast majority of Chris's cars have been sold either through RM Auctions, DK Engineering or by his close friend John Collins at Talacrest. His older cars were primarily tended to by Terry Hoyle at TDH Classics, so it seems strange that Joe Macari would be involved in this one, although he has and does deal in some top end cars.

You quoted my unedited my reply, which I corrected. Like I said I believed it to be another California and I stand corrected. Thank you for the correction.

I believe he over paid for the car, but it is odd he would take such a bath on the car so fast.

Edit: Do you know if the car in question has been refitted with the bumpers?

You are probably right, but there was a real bidder prepared to pay a little less

So true, he has recently acquired a 250 GTO and in the process sold off a few of his other cars to finance this acquisition. Even with this purchase he is not short of a shackle and struggle to believe he would take close to a 3,000,000 EUR hit on this car.

I have no idea, I'm trying to ascertain whether the car has been sold or not.
Personally, I much prefer the way the car looks with bumpers than without.

Anamera have now modified their list, stating the car traded for $7,000,000 or £4,600,000.
