Several times this has happened to me now. In sport mode and off the line if i accelerate quickly and try to shift into second gear around 8K, it wont catch second gear, just bounces off the rev limiter a few times.

My first guess is that if I shift close to the redline, it blips up into the rev limiter when I hit the upshift paddle.

Has this happened to anyone else here?

I would go to you're mechanic or dealer and have them look at the tcu and see if there are any codes and also the clutch wear.

Downshift should blip but upshift should not.

Upshift needs to drop revs to match. Not to sound insulting but is the care completely warmed up? Have you had transaxle oil changed recently? 2nd is a difficult gear and either of these things can make hitting the gear difficult. Agree that you should have it checked out.

yep, car is warmed up when it happens. I'm also not letting off of the gas when shifting. As for the blip up, I did notice it sort of blip up before catching the next gear. I"ll get my mechanic to take a look see.

ok, just got back from a diagnostic. On the way over to the shop, I made sure the car was warmed up for a good 20 minutes, then got on it in 1st - 4th gear a number of times, and everything was fine. Had the mechanic drive it and it worked just fine then also.

We then ran a diagnostic on it and the only codes that came up were O2 sensors. He says that I will most likely have to replace them in the near future. Clutch wear was 45%

Nice day down here in Houston for a drive though!

Sounds encouraging that you dont have problems with any of those sensors related to transmission and clutch (those are really expensive). Several cars I know had problems with clutch not catshing at the right time and system throwing it into neutral as the result.
