Saw 2 red Ferrari Californias on Tolo Highway in as many days. Surprised to see one today despite the rain.

Wouldn't the fuel consumption kill you a bit, especially with HK's city driving?

No worse than SL, AM, Maser GTS, any *63AMG, ... I doubt fuel consumption factors into any of these purchases. I am sure it does for a Prius.

True, if you can afford the car, you can probably afford the petrol...

Went to TMT this morning - the usual, but when I left (about 15-20 mins after the main Ferraris and Lambos had left) I saw a red Scuderia and two orange Gallardos stopped by the police - the Scuderia and one of the Gallardos for sure were on T-Plates, but I'm not sure about the other Gallardo. I'm not sure if they were stopped for speeding or for the T-Plates; if it was speeding then it would be likely the rest of the group would have been stopped as well, and not just those three. Anyone know anything about it?

An clever but unlilkely Ferrari Website page devoted to the 458 Fires. I saw it in the blogs on the Jalopnik report on the latest 458 fire in China.

    http://jalopnik.com/5620538/ferrari-458-italia-burns-to-ground-in-china

Submitted by a "shinjukudlg". Pity about the givaway Italia misspelling.

This link comes from the FChat 458 section.

If only Ferrari made it this eary to report, get support and get a replacement!

My guess is T-Plates. It is just so wrong to use a T-Plate for SMD. I just don't know why people continue to do it

Would the police stop a LHD T-Plate car?

Weird thing is that the police were actually at the TMT carpark but didn't do anything...

I would imagine it would probably make more sense to bust the car w/ T-Plate when it's moving?

Good news - 458 recall parts have arrived in Hong Kong and I should be able to pick up my car tomorrow. IMSS have done a great job on this

Too right! I'm a sucker for all things lightweight 911. There seems to be a few of these around HK now judging by the photos people have been posting. I hope they get to see the track once and a while.

Does anyone know if there is a way to find a used 430 engine here, from a wrecked car perhaps?

    Interesting idea.
Here is a boat with one in, on Lake Como, where I will be on thursday!!
This boat holds some speed record or other.
Sorry, dont know of any other engines outside of F430s!
Rebuild a burnt out 458 engine might be a good alternative!
A few of those about. One in China.
    Whats it for?

    Followed DM this morning :D

love that good ol' fuel smell even with my windows closed and a/c on! haha

I was at the toll booth and DM was already entering the tunnel, it took me no time to recognize the car even from that distance; what a classic and timeless design...

DM - not being freaky, but my cooper would struggle to get along side you to say hi! lol

Your dog is one lucky dog!

Love how you stretched her legs (the car) a little after we got off Tsim Shan tunnel towards Elements; she can still dance (very well)!
