Looking to purchase a well maintained 1999 355 F1 Berlinetta. Must have documented history of engine out service, don't want a garage queen but prefer lower mileage, upgraded to Tubi, Fabspeed or similar system. Color preference- black over tan or red over tan, or blue exterior with any interior combination.

Congrats on a fine choice, the best flavor 355 IMHO! :D

Too bad you don't want a 98 car--yellow/black---I have one of the best examples in the country...

98 and 99 are exactly the same car----no differences...

I was in LaJolle, CA over the weekend and while there, checked on a yellow '99. Truth be told, to get the wife on board, it's got to be something other than yellow.

I was in Calgary at the Ferrari dealership they had a customers car in the show room, it is exactly what you want (but maybe a 6 spd can't recall) it was one of the best looking well kept cars I have ever seen. Not sure if he would sell it but never hurts to ask ;).

    Contact Username TRScotty.

He has a beautiful 1998 Rosso corsa/black interior with contrasting red stitching/factory shields. IMHO, 285Ferrari's (Robbie's) and the aforementioned car are the two finest F355s available. As Robbie stated, there is NO difference between the 1998 and 1999 (non-Fiorano) models.

I have a 1998 Rosso corsa/tan, but I would MUCH prefer a nero (black) interior.

Appreciate the tip about the car in Calagary. I'll look into it. Why would you prefer a black interior to tan? Maybe it's a false belief, but doesn't the darker interior tend to be hotter in the summer months? Where I live the summer months are unbearably hot, and that's one of the reasons a convertible is out of the question- the other being the stories I'm reading about hydraulic failure on the 355.

    The long way home

Though Nightlife means well, don't bother with the Calgary car. I know the car you're looking at, and despite needing a service, it's a good buy. I would wager that the Calgary car is double the price.

What about a GTS? Top on with A/C during the day, top off at night, no hydraulics.

Not sure about where you are Idaho? But I doubt it gets much hotter than here in Vegas..:) I have Nero interior in mine and love it. I have tan in my Range Rover and if they're both in the sun they're both hot!!! The black is no hotter than the tan, at least here in the 115 degree summer..:D

I'm in Boise and we either get it scorching hot or cold without many days in between. I've had two other open cars- '61 MGA roadster and '69 XKE, and loved'em and hated'em at the same time. Again the heat issue. Driving a convertible in Boise is akin to wearing a Tony Bahama style Hawaiian shirt on the street. It's amusing.

I'd like to learn to track the car near SLC at the Miller Raceway, and I believe they require a roll bar for convertibles. I'd consider a GTB like one currently on Ebay, but again it's in Modena yellow.

PS I'll bet you see Tony B on the streets in Vegas.....

    PSS... TRScotty-post a pic of your '98.

That is an incredibly beautiful 355! The GTB is just perfection imo.

Both of these cars represent what I'm looking for. FerrariDriver, anything more besides the mileage about the car? What would be a starting point for price? Appreciate the follow up and pics! Great stuff. TRScotty- great interior with the red stitching! I'd actually go for black interior if it were broken up just like this one.

If your main concern is the temperature of the seats, I would reconsider. How often do you really park it outside? When you actually do, keep it in shade with a sun shade and you'll be fine. Can always consider tint as well.

My interior is black and I live in FL. It's never bothered me.
