So i am waiting all day for the FIA verdict regarding Ferrari, and is the world media. And Mclaren gets punished. That makes sense Anyway, i am leaving out for Monza tonight. I think the red car should be safe in Italy, better drive fast through France though
This is yet another rule I take issue with in F1. This one should be sh*t-canned next season...along with many others.
Another 10 years of 'Ferrari International Assistance' BS on the internets and in pubs... I don't agree with the decision, IMO it should have been taken care of much quicker (take away WCC points for the Hockenheim fiasco) and let the drivers keep the points. Neither driver could really have been punished.
The fact that it took so long meant that whatever decision was reached would be tainted. Of course any verdict based on an unjust rule is at best compromised. At worse utterly farcical.
So it only cost Ferrari $100,000 to use good sense and avoid a dangerous passing situation between teammates. Next time they may have the good sense to manage this type of situation during the pit stops, if FIA doesn't straigthen things out first.
Well thank goodness that goon Mosley isn't around anymore. He would have blindly applied the letter of this (stupid) rule and imposed a pointless penalty on Ferrari. At least the FIA had the guts to recognize that the Team Orders rule is stupid as it has been relentlessly abused by every front running team since its introduction. I agree with the calls to have the rule changed.
Isn't FIA french for "don't believe everything you read"? One thing Ferrari and FIA have in common is that what they tell the press and what is going on behind closed doors don't necessarily have any real relationship to each other. (Okay, you can sort your drivers all you want, as long as you keep them out of the way of the script for the "cliffhanger" season results between McLunk and Red Bull.
