348 Ashtray

I thought I saw a post by Robbie (285ferrari) about him having a spare one.

 

That part seems to be pretty fragile. I'm wondering if there's a place you can buy new ones???

 

I bought a new one, but sold my 348 spider before I installed it. Let me first look it up and then see if we can agree on a fair price.

Youch!!! Fortunately, I'm looking for the flimsy plastic piece that surrounds the ashtray door. You know, one of the sticky parts. Hoping that's less the $285.

 

I have 348 ashtray. It has a case of the Stickys so you would have to remove that but it is otherwise sound/undamaged.

The frame portion? They are molded all together.... There are only three parts to it--The lid, the frame and the little bucket inside that is removable...

 

Yes, the frame part. Mine broke. I glued it back together with small metal bracing, so it looks fine, but I'd like to know where to get a replacement in case my repair doesn't hold.

 

The 348 ashtray is a one-piece item.

 

I paid $174 for it in July 2008.

 

yep, you have to buy the whole assembly---you can't buy just the frame or lid separately

 

My ashtray outer frame is broken too... its the only imperfection on my car, and it annoys the crap outta me, but there is NO WAY i'd drop $300 for a new one... just on principle!

I'm holding out for a fair deal on a used/sticky one that I can refurbish... so if anyone has one, PM me!

Buy a new one and be done with it. You will procure one for less than $200 (ie. Ricambi) and you won't be disappointed.

I can't seem to find the ashtray.
My wife thinks I replaced it in the 348 before I sold it, but I don't think so. I will drop a post when I found it.

 

Dude, Ricambi's price for that ashtray is $286.92, add shipping to the west coast, and its $300! It's certainly not Ricambi's fault, but that's stupid money for this $hitty piece of low-grade brittle plastic!

I also paid $300 for my 32GB iPhone 4, and OH BOY it does so much more than that stupid ashtray!
