Just returned from the TCU/Oregon State game at Cowboy Stadium. It was crazy. I did not purchase tickets in advance and ended up having to buy standing room only seats in the end zone. But it was okay because that huge HD screen Jerry Jones had built over the field is what I watched most of the time anyway.

Andy Dalton rushed for two touchdowns himself and threw for another one. Beat OS 30-21. OS committed a safety with two minutes left in the game when they were only behind by 7. Center snapped the ball when the QB looked away for a second and it sailed away toward the end zone. QB kicked the ball out of the end zone and accepted the safety rather than let TCU recover in the end zone for a touchdown.

The stats are heavily stacked in TCU favor but the game was really close until the final two minutes. Dalton was intercepted twice after lengthy drives by TCU to keep the game close.

Andy now holds the number of wins by a starting QB record for TCU. Beat the record of 29 wins that Sammy Baugh had held since the 30's. If he stays healthy and TCU has another very good year he could conceivably have 40 wins in his college career. He also started the year with well over 7300 passing yards. This is already the all-time record at TCU for passing yards and he is just starting his senior year. And yes, I am an Andy Dalton fan...... Go Frogs.......

New Orleans Times Picayune has them picked to play Oregon in the Rose Bowl this year. They will have to go undefeated to do that......Who knows....the season is very long...and all kinds of things seem to be happening in the world of college football.

    Oklahoma State v. Washington State.

Final: 65-17 - OSU takes it in a squeaker!

Both daughters have student season tickets and were at the game...

    What a blowout!

That's because the entire ploy by Texas was to give themselves more money, and it worked. Several teams in the 'Big 12' gave up their revenue shares to keep Texas in, that's not right, I don't see the point in it.

    Todd Dodge?
Cripes - I remember when he was the QB!

Typical opening game slop on both sides and another heart attack win by the Broncos. Game winning TD with 1:09 left.

Great game by Boise! They really deserved the win. I could tell that VT was playing not to lose at the end, such a bad idea. The Dolphins perfected losing a lead in the 4th quarter. It is surprising how many teams emulate that plan.

Next weekend has too many big games to count. Fortunately for my nervous system, I will not be watching any of the games live.

Statistically, the anti-revenge will likely have Ohio State up by at least 10 points early, but I am hopeful that we can pull out a win.

    GO CANES!!!

Awesome game, shame about the outcome. Hokies totally blew it in the first quarter, we may have won the game otherwise but instead managed to make every mistake in the book in the first quarter.

I'll give Kellen Moore some props....brilliant clutch performer there. Their last drive was killer, and our drive before that was far too conservative given Boise's known track record of coming back late.

Having said that, I like what I saw from VT and I'm still optimistic about the season. Tyrod Taylor played a very solid game, the defensive backs played relatively well, Darren Evans looks strong after the ACL tear last year, and the receivers looked very sharp. Ryan Williams still has it despite our o-line playing poorly.

Boise needs VT to win out. I think they can. That's a good squad and the offense looked like it had the first game jitters. Everyone in Boise will be rooting for the Hokies from here on out.

I must say, I was impressed with Boise's fans. They had a great turnout considering the travel distance and were very loud. Pretty classy bunch too.

I wasn't able to go but I know at least 20 people who did. That's one of the reasons I live in Idaho. I move back here five years ago after living in Annapolis Md for four years. Quality people. The Boise State fan base is fanatical and does travel very well. I did go to the Fiesta bowls and talk about a great time. Everyone I have talked to that went to the "DC" game said the Va Tech fans were very nice and they had a great time. Now everyone in Boise has a new game to watch. Go Hokies! :)

Im sure the Broncos would love to invite the Tigers to an up close tour of the Blue. The Gimmick is catching on. There is at least one other college with blue turf and a half a dozen High Schools too. Texas High Schools no less and we all know how serious football is in Texas. :)

According to people who get paid to know college football they think the Broncos are better than 117 other teams right now. There are still a lot of games to be played so we'll have to see how it plays out.

LOL - True indeed...we look forward to Vandy winning the SEC because they are so awesome. Just like last year when the Big 10 ended up 1-1 vs the SEC with Penn State Beating LSU and Auburn escaping with a win over powerhouse Northwestern Ahahahaha!

I didn't say Vandy would win the SEC or that they were awesome just that they could beat the Overrated State University :)
