They showed him out in front of the Ferrari motor home on Speed.

    New SF team manager? :)

I wouldn't be shocked to see Flavio join the Scuderia...

Look at his resume and Domenicali's.

Whatever you may think of the machiavellian Briatore, he took two teams to championships that had never made it in years of trying (Benetton and Renault) with different drivers.

How many championships has Domenicali won (with a bigger team and better resources)?

Actually, too bad we can't have Todt back ;)

If Ferrari can hire Flavio they should.

Do you really think that Flavio could just "work" for Ferrari?

Their are too many chiefs and not enough Indians in that paddock for Flavio.

Which is where Flavio's business acumen and business management skills come into play...

His skill set is as applicable to a racing team as it is to a clothing manufacturer.;) He is accustomed to having to manage strong personalities in different industries.

He stood on the sidelines in 89 and then cleaned house when he took over Benetton a year later. He's the man that a year later (90) brought in the acknowledged designer ace of the period (Bernard), signed Piquet (and then stole Schumacher a year later) along with other significant team changes. He will make changes where he has to until the team is on top. He did it with Benetton and then returned and took Renault to the top.

Bottom line... Briatore would be a definite upgrade from Domenicali

Bloody well hope so. Get the useless SD out, maybe he can get a job at Hispania.

Flav knows a thing or two about building a winning team.

    Other points to ponder...

-Alonso- we've already seen the pull he has within the team and his close ties to Flavio. What he wants, he gets. If he wants Flavio there he just might get it. Let's not forget the support he showed for Flavio when Singapore-gate was going on...

-Bernie- very good friend. It's good to be friends with the King! Ferrari winning is good for business, so I could see Bernie lending his assistance wherever needed... BTW, this last bit might make him attractive to the powers that be since it could get them in tighter with Bernie...

Flavio and Fernando are still very tight:

    from Wiki:

58-year-old Briatore married the 28-year-old 'Wonderbra' model Elisabetta Gregoraci, on 14 June 2008. The driver of the bridal car was Fernando ALONSO. After the ceremony, ALONSO drove the newlyweds to the reception at the Castello di Torcrescenza in Rome.[37].Gregoraci gave birth to their son Falco Nathan in Nice, France on 18 March 2010 [38].

    Benefits of Bernie's friendship:

Also, let's not forget that Flavio/Renault were not hit with a $100,000,000 like McLaren was under almost identical circumstances... (it's good to be business partners with Bernie). Something tells me that connection could come in very handy...

He would be as ruthless as necessary to gain the needed results and balks at nothing to upgrade his team's position. For example, anyone remember how quickly poor Moreno was dumped when Flavio had a shot at Schumi?

I could go on and on with examples. Bottom line is that Ferrari has floundered since the "dream team" left. Pairing up Flavio and Alonso has already won 2 championships back to back just a few years ago (05 and 06).

They need Flavio and it would be a good match. SD needs to be looking over his shoulder now...

I'd really be happy to have Flavio handling the Scuderia. Dom has to be one of the worst principle in the paddock.

Does Flav still have a reinstatement issue with the FIA? If so, Todt may have a sympathetic ear. Flav at SF to me is soo obvious. Assuming this happens, I predict in his rebuilding year he'll make a successful play for Newey's services and then its game over!

    +1

That, and don't forget the Scuderia regards, at the moment, that Alonso is the best asset the team have. Alonso could use his negotiation skills and ultimately ask for Flav to be at helm.

    Wikipedia:

Flavio helped build Formula 1. He and Eccelstone are thick as thieves.

If he is alive, he will be involved in the sport.

Whether that is a good thing or not is up to everyone's own opinion.

I have always gotten a kick out of him. And - as has been said - he has had success wherever he has gone.

    WOW! :D

Can we put it in his contract that every broadcast has to show 10 minutes of her in a bikini at each GP? (never hurts to ask) ;)

We MUST breach the "babe-gap" to McLaren!!! (refer to Dr Strangelove's "Mineshaft Gap")

Bernie's daughters still go on Flav's yacht often so I guess they're still tight. His ban wasn't overturned but it's only one phone call away so to say...

I think he was banned from even attending a FIA event so I think it has been overturned. Not 100% sure but I am sure google could clear things up...
