Can't stand to spend the money for a 6-8oz steak, or even a 12-16oz when I can cook these.
Two 1 lb Sirloins, and a 12 oz Amana Ribeye. Cost = $19 total.

If God didn't want us to eat animals, why'd He make them out of meat?

    No kidding Franco........

My wife and I bought a kilo of Picanha for $27 yesterday then BBQ'd and devoured it.........our local churrascaria would have charged us $35 per person and maybe we could have gotten about 200 grams each if we were lucky.

We raise our own beef, pork, and chickens at home. No need to buy at store let alone a restaurant! ;)

    Cheers!

no doubt. i go to publix or winn dixie and get whatever is on sale. last night we had some rib eyes. it took me 15 minutes to grill them. you'd have to wait that long to be seated in a steakhouse.

Yeah, better at home. Not to mention better wine and not getting raped for
a decent bottle. It is all about the experience though.

Nice looking steaks you made there!

Just about the only time I ever order steak in a restaurant is when I'm dining on business.

For our beef fix we buy ~1-1.5lb worth of hanger steak, season and sear in a cast iron skillet then finish in our convection toaster oven for steak nirvana.

I don't expect to pay $1 over cost for a steak in a steakhouse, or anywhere else, and I know they have HUGE overhead, and the 'minimum wage' is killing them as well, but still, it is really hard to spend $50+ per person on a meal that costs about $10-12 to make. (steak, baked potato, side salad, ice tea, etc.)

It's just as hard to spend $40-$50 on an HDMI cable at the 'Best' place when you can get them for $6 at most electrical supply stores.
Same goes for USB (printer) cables.

It's even harder when the meal at home is superior to the one you buy at a restaurant. :)
