The youTube link is in Japanese. Search by it's title: RC SR-71 JET

If someone can figure out a way to post the link, I would appreciate it!
Runs just over 7 minutes. Shot in Germany.

There's an annual remote control jet rally at the Lake Wales (Florida) airport the first weekend in November. These aircraft are among the coolest "toys" ever. Entry-level turbine r/c jets start around $3,000-$5,000. Hate to think what this SR-71 would cost "off-the-shelf!"

Al (Sauber F-1), Wade and some of you in the Tampa area should consider meeting-up at the jet rally. It's a (jet) blast!

Thanks for posting the link. Remote control jets are awesome but that SR-71 model takes the cake!

Just curious. Do these modelers have special liability insurance? It would seem that if one of these larger scale planes crashes it could potentially do significant damage to property or persons.

AMA Members get $2.5 mil in coverage when they are flying at a chartered field or sanctioned event. Turbine pilots have to have a special endorsement in order to fly jet models at AMA fields and events.

Wow - that's huge! I wonder how they transport it between events? Maybe fly it from the passenger seat of a car? LOL! :D

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I've seen that exact plane at a show I went to with a friend who is into them, it is gigantic. Watching it fly was quite impressive and there were quite a few other interesting jets there.

There was also an airline pilot there who had scratch built himself a very nice looking jet powered F-15. He was flying it low upside down along the runway and just ploughed it straight into the runway instead of climbing  Most of it ended up being swept up and thrown into a bin.
