288 GTO seats are two-piece items with a lever to fold the unit for stowage or for access to the bulkhead. After 25 years some develop some play at the hinge and this car clearly has this issue. I think it is caused by heavier drivers dropping down with some force into the seat, rather than easing into it. It was obvious because the seat has been pushed forward and the seat back is not resting on the bulkhead. I would recommend removing the seat, inspecting it closely and performing the needed rectification, if nothing else, from a safety standpoint.
