I hate the place, what a sh*thole. Full of retirees, drunk schoolies and people on holidays. Why would someone who lives in a city elsewhere in Australia choose to holiday in another city on a beach? Weird. I would choose the whitsunday islands every time: http://www.google.com.au/images?rlz=1T4GGLJ_enAU317AU317&q=whitsundays&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=-XeQTPf-B4bCcbmhkNUM&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=4&ved=0CEQQsAQwAw Have they opened any decent restaurants in Surfers Paradise yet? The food was shocking last time I went.
Lol, I love visiting there. I may change my mind if I ever live there. Tell me about it. Local Macca's.
they change owners so often when we do find one it doesn't last long we do have a couple of very nice restaurants : Bellinis at Marina Mirage and Versace are ok but we won't tell where the really good ones are Steve G and I had a great meal at the new restaurant at the bottom of Q1 I'm sure you would like, the chef was from Tassie and was first class
Yeah, A LOT has closed down since I was a kid man. The Fush and Chups here is actually REALLY REALLY ****ty. I havent had it for years now, thats how crap it is.
It looks like I might be taking the boys to the theme parks up there soon. I might test a few of your recommendations. Hope they are up to melbourne standards, life's too short for sh*t food
Surprisingly no, I'm just peachy thanks. I have never liked surfers and I went there a LOT on family holidays as a kid.
Hey, Pap - gunna take Rob 4-wheelin' and sky-divin' in slo-mo? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JM3vOzq8fCY&feature=related
for the beach what will the water temp be around Gold Coast? I can handle it pretty cold, anything over 21-22 C, I do have a half wetsuit I could throw into the bag if needed.
more than happy to show you the nice ones .... we don't have a lot of those Vietnamese diners you guys like so much, but I can try and dig one up for you
bring the half wetsuit, it doesn't get over 21 until mid summer, it's not 15-17 but still chilly by inland temps Plus the big tip for the GC beaches is to swim between the flags, we have some dangerous rips and if you get caught in one you will be on a long trip to NZ
