I've had my 2006 F430 now for about one month and have purchased 3 tanks of gas. I purposely run it down until the refuel warning is displayed in order to verify that the warning works and correctly shows the proper low fuel level. However, after refueling, the gauge is very slow to respond to the added fuel and will incorrectly indicate low levels of fuel. It often takes days for the gauge to register a full tank, I thought perhaps the float may be sticking, so I have tried driving over small bumps to jar it loose.

Is his typical of the fuel level sender system? Any thoughts on the problem?

    Cheers,

    Fred R.

I don't know the 430, but most fuel level sensors are mounted in the top of the tank and extend down with an arm sticking out which 'floats' up and down with the fuel. Sensors are usually able to be mounted this way or that, if there are 6 screws, in 60 degree intervals. Now then, if the sensor is incorrectly mounted just one position off, so the arm is hitting the tank wall, it can easily eventually get to the proper level but may take forever as it is scrapping the sides. A simple inspection will test this theory.
