My F-Chat confessional and a change of heart....... Seriously........for a long time I thought it was ugly, fat azzed, oddly shaped, et al........... I just didn't like the car.....and was spoiled by the lines of it's svelte predecessor, the 456, which I still love dearly. So today, I can say that I've seen enough of the 612 in pics, and finally in person over the years, and WOW has it aged well. I really like it now. A lot.........if I had the cash I'd buy a new one, I like it that much. There, I've said it.........
I bought one new in 2005.I always felt it lacked the sex appeal of it's sibilings Plus you only gained 50+hp going from V-8 430 To the V-12 which was quite disappointing considering how much one paid for the upgrade
well, i can honestly say i m not a fan, and frankly dunno why F doesnt kill the model. 599, 458, Cali is enuough. Keep it simple.
I love it. I'll buy one as soon as I can. I think it's the perfect blend of Ferrari in a GT car. Speed, F1 goodies, nice lines but not so much that you get 5 camera phone pics at the gas station(which means incognito is nice sometimes), seats in the back for kids and drivability. For now, I'll have to stick with the M3, unless anyone wants to trade? ;-)
The 612 is my first planned Ferrari, just so much class and ability in one package. 12 cylinders, 4 seats, beautiful interior. The next ten years will see me saving for one!
Ditto. The only possible negatives may be the gas mileage and the F1. If they give it the 7 sp. double clutch, they'll be near perfect.
I think the 612 is one of the classiest rides you can buy...if not THE classiest. It looks so good in vintage colors. This car really is going to age well...
Ricky- They have definitely grown on me. Enough to where I have a 612 WSM and have been trying to discover technical details on the OTO. Would love to have an OTO clutch on my 575M if I ever wear out the one I have. Taz Terry Phillips
That's what's happening to me............ I really like the understated nature of the styling. I don't think it's meant to be a "bling" car, and nothing could be further from what I want.
its my prettiest! http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/rennpository-video-clips-and-other-in-line-videos/510778-612-photoshoot.html http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/rennpository-video-clips-and-other-in-line-videos/569951-weekend-pictures.html
i also hated the 612 when it first came out , and now it's the classiest ferrari ive ever owned , and i also own a 599 , 512tr , and a 430 spider and my recent purchase of a 2008 612 oto rosso corsa with tan leather , and i love this car , i was going to buy a 458 until i saw it and decided for $300k loaded it didn't knock my socks off for that kind of money , so i spent $219k for a car that was $365k new , and that was the best thing i ever did .
Would make for a nice family hack. I wish I could afford one. They are still selling for around AU $275K for a 2005 model. Maybe in another 10 more years that will be reasonable to peasants like me. Saw this new red/tan one at the dealer in Brisbane 3 yrs ago. Very big and nice car in person. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Quite the collection of Ferraris there you have. Are they all red/tan? That is my favourite colour combo.
I love the 612's simple, yet elegant and classy design (in my view ). It would be one of my first purchases if I could ever afford it. I really love Champagne612's Nuvolari color. Isn't there another member with a 2 tone 612? I think it's a grigio with a cream color.
I always loved the 612 and I still do. From day one. It has a design that will last for a long time and this car will age very well imo. Clean lines, long nose. Awesome GT if you ask me. The OTO program was what it needed. With the challenge wheels it doesn't look dated at all. Nice rattle and rumble coming out of the back pipes as well.
Here you go Jas... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=58522&highlight=pics Best wishes
