Not on the agenda . Sergio is fully booked this weekend (always a good reason to head up north) and I want to keep my driver's license for a while. Up north with the GTO in 1st gear is already a potential risk to have it taken away
we'll be at the Nuerburg-ring on friday 10th september, afternoon, sunday = closed, so no week-end'ers (like crazy Porsches from UK&Italy), we'll take the Aeromax welcome!!!

... finally the black rims have been delivered. Took her in to have them put on. Friday I'll have her back. Hmm ... I feel strange. Almost one week without the GTO. Thank God I have a busy agenda but I'll miss her nonetheless

Yep. I have seen the rims and to be honest ... they look good, really good. They will make the car look really aggressive. I'm pretty confident things will work out the way I expect them to The HGTE is getting more attention now. That is true. Spent 4 hours in the car on Saturday and boy ... she is good. What a great GT that is. Quick, very quick and comfortable. I simply love that car I'll get you guys pics as soon as possible. Promised
M, nice to hear that the final feature is received by the dealer for installation on your GTO. Merely a side question or statement from my side, the grayish rims looked rather nice combined with the matte grayish roof and mirrors. You don't think it will look busy on the GTO? With busy I refer to the colors (black, red, yellow (shields) and the grey)?
True but the black rims give the car such an aggressive / racing look. I don't think it will look too busy. That is also why I opted for the black brake callipers and not for red, grey or yellow. Black callipers with the black donuts and the black rims will go well together. The rest of the carbon forms a unit with the colour of the roof and the interior. I'm pretty confident it will work out well
That's a very fair conclusion. The original grey rims are a keeper for yourself or is the dealer going to take them back? I don't think you'll put some cold weather tires on the grey rims
M, after u see the black rims installed make a comparison with the grey ones, I personally like the grey rims with the grey roof. Congrats with that really cool car! Who else on Fchat owns the 599 GTO?
I do. Great car. Has a little bit of the XX in it and gives me the same emotions that a Challenge Stradale and an F40 do.... A driver's car for sure! Have 10,000 kms on it....
Ooh there are plenty of other owners on this board as you well noticed Thanks Pap. Wow, you drive the hell out of it but I can understand why. I got my car back yesterday with the black rims installed and have been looking for excuses to drive it ever since. Hard to resist it and as you say ... this car is all about emotions. With regards to the black rims ... all I can say is that it came out just the way I pictured it. Much more aggressive look. The black callipers, black tinted rear windows and black rims go very well together. The grey from the roof and the CF trim form one unit. Just the combination I envisioned. The car was detailed with Swizöl products. Boy ... it looks stunning. The red has so much more depth into it. It is amazing. The entire process took one and a half days but the result is just stunning. My HGTE is in now for the same treatment. I'll try to post some pics later. Cheers, M
M, All of your posts have made me fall in love with this car. I am praying that they come down enough in price and that the economy picks up in a couple years so I can convince my dad to get one!!!
