I agree after seeing your tally. HOWEVER, the 1982 Williams (which won the WDC with Keke) was a lot better IMO than their 1999 or 2009 chassis. So I still contend that Daly is the worst ;-)

This video came to mind when you mentioned tough questions. I didn't really watch F1 back then, and I don't know the exact circumstances of which they were talking, but he seems to have been pressing Massa on some issue of qualifying fuel loads, and Massa was pretty evasive about it. I actually liked Windsor's journalistic abilities, and his post-race FIA press conference questions...well, much more than his team-running abilities anyway.

Keke won the title because the Ferrari boys dropped out of the running. :(
The points spread between the three seasons and between 1st and 2nd driver aren't really that big:

    1982
    Keke 44
    Daily 8

    1999
    Ralf 35
    Zanardi 0

    2009
    Nico 35
    Nakajima 0

And lets not forget Daily only drove 12 races in 82.

That's a cool video and had PW been like that all the time, I would be his biggest fan. This is exactly how a journalist should ask questions. Up to the point where the driver walks away upset/confused/disgusted. So be it. :)

Sadly none of that 60Minutes-style tenacity was left over when he did the grid walk or the post race interviews. Not that his successor is much better.

Because if you do that on the grid walk you can forget about doing a grid walk again.

I understand. But then why do the grid walk in the first place?

Just to kiss drivers' ass and wish everybody good luck? How lame.

Spend the time showing some grid girls instead.

And yes the Speed team talked about Ferrari not running the F duct and I was thinking if you dont run it at Monza then where the heck DO you run it.
Just never bothered to double check Matchet. He usually spots the minutest of details so I just assumed he was right.

Yes, kind of lame, but I do get something out of seeing the driver's demeanor before the race.

My point though, is don't hate the player, hate the game!

    Same here.

Quite frankly Speed TV could do the gridwalk without an interviewer. Just have the camera and sound guy and walk from driver to driver. It is interesting enough to just see them prepare for the race without hearing their rehearsed cliche answers.

An interview is only interesting if it leads somewhere. Just wishing good luck and stating the obvious is boring and poor journalism.

What's up with all the crap on Speed Channel these days? If any of you didn't noticed the last few years, the broadcasting content on Speed is Crap! The breakdown is: about 95% is NASCAR related... and then there's about 8% is other crap is not worth watching such as Pinks, Monster trucks, Hotrod, Barrette Jackson auctions, and car crazy, so that leaves 2% for F1, MotorGP, La Mans... which IMO stuff worth watching.... NASCAR SUCKS!

Are you sure you're not a NASCAR person? Your good ol' boy mispellings seem too perfect. :)

In case you haven't noticed, SPEED is commercial TV, and hence they broadcast whatever pays the bills.

    Thanks.

Imagine it: It'd be like the first 10 minutes of the movie Le Mans or like some scenes from "Grand Prix". And show me a motorhead who doesn't like those movies?
