Sounds like there are a lot of problems.
I agree, it's a fantastic game but all the little things really seem to add up, I hope they can patch it easily.
Got the game and ive played it for a few hours. I havent got one tire puncture yet! Dont know if im lucky or what. The game is great, seems like you may spin just a little to easy but thats how it is with race tires. Theres no give in race tires, even autocross rcomps like kumho v710s. The give level of race tires is little to none however I would like a tiny bit more give for the game. The game overall is great, the handleing is fun and if you put the race line on it really helps with eliminating spinning and whatnot. BTW im playing with no assists and AI on legendary. The game is difficult thats for sure. Its very hard (with my lotus) to qualify above 20 or so. However im still learning. The one thing about this game that is just great is the atmosphere. Being in the pits in your garage watching the live timing of the quali session with cars flying by on the main straight and cars rolling by in the pit lane. The game is just great, adapt to the handling and get really smooth and this will be a really great game. Just a blast. Go buy it! If anyone wants to have a Fchat race somewhat soon post it up lets find a time that works for everyone!!
I had my biggest complaint a few minutes ago. I was at Catalunya and in 1st, which wasn't easy. I pitted at the last chance and went from 1st to 16th. The Kubica ended up winning, but he never pitted, he was on options the entire time. These little things are really starting to get to me.
Glad I'm not alone with some of the issues. I've never had a tire puncture, but I am only playing on intermediate. I lack the simracing experience you guys have. It's mostly been Gran Turismo for me. I hate myself for doing it already, but I can't keep myself away from the game. When it's good, it's awesome! Let's definitely get an FChat race going. If nothing else, it could be a fun demo derby!
I can't believe it but I was playing from about noon until just now. Way too addictive, and I'm there with you on the intermediate side, though I've noticed the Professional AI is actually easier than the Intermediate AI.
Getting on full throttle too soon. You have to ease it up consistently coming out of a corner (especially if you miss the apex). I've only had a couple of spins when I first started, but haven't found it to be overly unforgiving. Lot's of tourque+instant throttle=spin. Regarding the graphics, they're clean but I wouldn't necessarily rate them above the F1 game that came out at PS3 launch. I'll have to look at them side-by-side.
No tyre puncture issues yet. I haven't played the career mode, but nothing seems over-the-top unforgiving to me....YET!
Ok now after playing longer I realized that putting medium (the lowest) traction control on, it makes the whole spinning thing good for me. Makes a great balance of a little give while still being capable of a spin. Im having a blast playing this game, just having a hard time finishing a race not in dead last. (AI on legend with only medium tc). Im at my first race in the career and I have the track down now, but I cant help but have one spin in the race that puts me out of where id like to be. Ill play a lot tomorrow and get things sorted out. This game is soooo awesome, im loving it. It seems to have quite a steep learning curve. I never use the race line in any other game but it helps me a TON in this game to get used to the track. I highly reccommend using it in your practice session before each GP.
LOL It was 3am and I was tired...it's only midnight now and I'm still having issues with it. My spins are when I'm still very low speed and low on the throttle. I've been practicing with easing onto the throttle, but nothing has been working. I don't have a prob with it in other games. I just can't get past Shanghai, where it seems to be happening worse than anywhere else. I'm using a Logitech Force GT wheel with a Playseat. I'll just keep practicing until I rage quit again, then start again the next night. I turn the racing line on for the first 10 or so practice laps, then turn it off and do another 20 or so. Thanks for the tips, guys!
You gotta be *$&#(#ing me. I decided to just put it on easy for a while to learn the game better. I'm running 3rd at Shanghai with 2 laps. I spin out, my own fault for cutting too early, and drop to 10th. Then, last lap, I reach the turn just prior to the "Made with China" sign. I straighten out, 2nd gear, ease slow onto the throttle....magic spin, 23rd place. I don't know if I got hit or what, but there is no way even Hawking could describe the physics of why I spun. So, on to Spain. 4th practice lap and no matter what I try, I always spin out at the 2nd to last corner. I decide to pit, get hit from behind while on pit road, BAM! 5 grid spot penalty. I think I woke my wife up with my "WHAT THE HELL!?!?" I'm glad you guys are having better luck with this than I am.
I had the exact same BS happen to me in Spain. Every lap without fail I would ****ing spin on that corner no matter what I did. haha. In the end I just used the brakes thru the corner just to survive. I have been having a mixed season so far 2x3rd place but been all over the shop. Then I arrive to Canada today one of my favourite circuits on the calendar. Clean sweep 1s+ faster then everyone in Prac/Pole/Race It felt good Another thing I have noticed is the lack of timing about how far behind the other drivers are. It seems to tell me only what their time is relative to my current lap time. I had no idea if I had to push or take it easy for the last few laps in the end I was 27s ahead of Webber and also managed to lap 2 cars
Now that I'm getting used to playing it with the controller I'm having some awesome battles Valencia was battling with Button for 3rd place for most of the race. He pits for slicks. A few laps later it starts raining on the same lap I pit for my tyres and request for Inters. The stop is slick and get out just ahead of Button but the track isn't wet enough for my inters so Button is all over the back of me. I'm able to hold him off just enough to get to the back of the track where its much wetter and he starts losing grip I'm able to get a good gap a few laps later I come in 2nd Silverstone. The weatherman says its going to rain. I put some options on and get out straight away. I'm able to get a good time from my 1st lap. It starts pissing down. None of the big teams have come out. Pole My start is awful get passed by Button/Lewis and Kubica by the 2nd corner I'm able to get Kubica and accidentally bump Button off but only get a warning I'm chasing Lewis for the whole race our lap times are similar he is only 1s up the road. We both pit on the same lap both pit stops are slick and back on track 1st n 2nd. 3 laps to go I'm pushing hard catching Lewis!! Last lap I push too hard I go off! Lewis wins! 2nd place for my Lotus I really hope they put effort to fix the bugs this game can be awesome if they put the effort to patch it properly
What platform are you on? I'd love to have a race or three for Fchat guys that have the game for PS3.
I stayed up until 3am racing people online at random. Some folks have some skills. others just want a crashfest. One thing that is irritating me if I'm doing well or winning during a three lap race, other drivers will quit & leave the session. I'll be playing again this evening so let's get some races going!
GameStop called me Thursday at 6pm. Got the game. Plusses and minusses. . . Those low speed spins - WHAT THE HELL !!! Also, got hit from behind during practice -- 5 grid penalty. Picked Sauber, my mistake. Meant to do Lotus or STR. Oh well, only 3 seasons! Wife's going to be away this weekend. Delivery pizza and beer!
You can't be full on the throttle and have the wheel turned from a slow corner. Brake early, easing on the gas through and when it straightens up hit it. Got the game last night, was finally able to sit down this morning and run the first race. I like the layout. First thing I did was turn T/C to limited (medium setting). Qualified 7th, finished 5th. I chose the short weekend, I guess that's why it didn't do a proper qualifying session? I'll do a long weekend tonight to see if it's different. Over all I'm extremly satisfied. I didn't realize how many times Bahrain changed elevation, and apparently they've changed the layout since F1CE.
