No problem. I work on them everyday and finally got to take some pictures. I think I should have taken more. Oh well, next time.

Steven- Great photos of a grand old bird. You are undoubtedly working on aircraft way older than you are.

Hopefully getting your units out from under ACC is going to improve everybody's promotion rate and job satisfaction. Global Strike Command (SAC II) is a great improvement, even if it does mean an extra NSI or two.

Thanks for the kind words. Its funny, Pratt & Whitey were up here this week and they were telling us that some of the engine is still original from the factory as far back as 1959. Its just a little crazy to think that the engines that I work on were being produced 30 years before I was born and are still maintained today.

From my understanding the change has made things night and day different. I'm new, arrive June, up here so I can't really speak to the changes other than the stories I've heard. We do have a lot of inspections and exercises but we are usually rewarded for it with an extra day off or a family day.

I'm glad I finally got to take some pictures. I'm not the biggest fan but its growing on me the more time I spend around it and the better I get at my job.

    All the best,

    A1C Kot, a young Airman :)

Steven- From an old retired Lt Col, the USAF runs on its NCO's and enlisted personnel's expertise. That is the one thing that has always kept us ahead of the bad guys, who cannot duplicate your expertise or professionalism. Cheers to a long and successful career for you and I am betting you end up in OTS along the way. Hang in there.

Steve, I add my 200 % yep! to Taz's comments regarding your important work. I did what you are doing for a while in 1944 and I know what it is to literally put it on the line when it is snowing, raining, boiling, or freezing. When there are problems with the aircraft nobody cares about the weather, the time, or the mechanics, only that the problem gets fixed quickly as possible. Nothing is colder than av gas on bare hands at 30 deg.
Seven years after that, I was working at Boeing on the XB-52 in 1951, then the B-52A but as a production illustrator making isometric drawings to show how to put the airplane together.
I saw the first take off of the B-52 in 1952, I retired in 2000 after 48 years at Boeing and I'm still in awe of the B-52 as much as I was the first time I saw the mock-up in 1950.
The J-57, J-75 are in the same class as the R1830, R2800, R1340,and the R985...masterpieces. Keep up the good work.
