Formula 1™ 2010 - Game (PC/XBOX360/PS3)

Something doesn't seem right, I just did Istanbul practice and kept my normal setting but changed the AI to Legend and Amateur. On amateur the pole time was 1 minute 30 and on legend it was 1 minute 28, shouldn't there be a bigger difference in the AI difficulty levels?

 

if you look at the f1 site the ai on legendary is running pretty close to actual times. hk at bahrain was running 02's in the lotus im running 01's. Not completely sure what you are supposed to be doing in the career mode because i dont think you have the upgrades necessary to be able to run with the leaders. there are probably some iracing aliens that might be able to though i certainly cant. my engine overheats all the time. im still trying to find the performance graphic quality balance since im using 5760x1080. even with a 5970 if its raining and lots of cars i get some stutter which is not really good for simracing. even with the few problems most of which you can work around im enjoying it. i wish there was more f1 challenge style telemetry or at least tire temps so you can tune the fricken suspension.

 

I started a new career with HRT instead of with STR, my god what a difference in the whole game it made. The difficulty levels seems to actually mean something and career seems fun and a very nice mixture of relaxed and competitive.

 

I'm doing STR now, so maybe that's the source of all my probs.

 

do a time trial you get a whole car to do it in. 1:54 bahrain in a mclaren. best i could manage in the career lotus was a 2:00. i used autogearbox and the racing line for aids. I wish they had the individual icons for the aids like forza 3 does.

 

I did a 1:58 in Bahrain in a HRT with aids.

 

I just got my F1 and a PS3 and a Logiteck wheel. How do I get the game to recognize and use the wheel?

 

I assume you've installed the drivers from Logitech. Once in the game, go to options (My F1 I think), and switch from keyboard to wheel.

 

I've been racing Spa online the past couple of days. It'***** or miss with the people you drive against. Some want a great challenge other just want to crash into as many cars as possible until being ejected or BANNED. The strange thing was I placed second last night after a run with a really good group of drivers (10/12), then when to the next session then somehow was banned. It took me awhile to find a another race to join but I'm wondering why I was banned from running with a group that didn't cause crashes or race like total jackasses?

Once again, most, if not all of these bugs should have been caught. I think they rushed it towards the end of development.

 

Thanks! Was still happening with ZERO throttle. Happened some with trail braking.

I'm stil have trouble getting consistency out of the AI cars, the 1st 3 races I had points finishes with legend and pro ai and then came China and I placed 20th. I don't care if I'm at the back of the pack but I'd like to get some consistency out of the AI cars. Some corners they tale way too fast and others way too slow.

 

I'm having a few of the main bugs, but my biggest complaint is that I'm way too fast compared to legendary ai. I'm winning races by quite a few seconds from pole after horrible pit strategy, and letting a few ai cars pass me so I don't get bored. Hopefully they release an even harder AI setting, or adjust the current levels.

 

Same, but I think it stems from the cars being too slow in the corners and fast in the straights, and usually you can go faster through the corners but if you get a track where you can't there is no way to beat the AI.

 

I'm downloading the game right now..lets hope my computer will work (only worried about the CPU...got P4 2.8 and need dual core 2.4 I think).

Maybe work on your setup a bit...

best advice is to tweak with your differential settings, put it at 10 deceleration and 25 acceleration first, and gradually adjust them (not sure how and what you can adjust on this game though!!).

 

Interesting, my problems are different. I find legendary to be quite hard, (xbox) It must be different than pc. I have improved quite a bit in the game and I feel like im maxing out the lotus and hitting all the lines perfectly. Only assist is raceline.

I cant be mid pack in the middle of a race at 40% and I will pit however the AI will not pit. It happens every single race which makes me not be able to even manage a top 20. I absolutely love this game, I can deal with all the bugs except no pitting for the AI. It pretty much just throws the whole race away.

 

Same here, also it seems like the AI cars are not affected by tire damage or fuel. I'm running some experiments now to see if I can figure it out. I ran without tire damage the 1st 3 races and got points and then with it on and placed 20th. Very very strange all the way around.

 

yeah im seeing the same thing. turn on the tire and fuel and barely make the objectives. turn it off and be on pole for qualifying 4 or podium for races on legend ai.

 

Crossed the line 1st in Canada in my lowly HRT, but got 2nd by .2 seconds thanks to a pit speeding penalty. I really, really need more difficult AI.
