One of many articles: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2369767,00.asp The specs: I'm a Windows/Blackberry guy, meaning I've never seen the Apple appeal but honestly haven't tried the latter in many years. So what does the techno savvy among us think of RIM's efforts? Hardware and software look great, I'm more interested in the third party apps that will be available for it. iPhone and Android have huge marketplaces and Blackberry has always been a little behind so it should be interesting how it works on the PlayBook.
looks great ... the number of dl's will prob be dependent on how many they sell ... like a catch-22 ...
"Meh" You can quote me here if I turn out to be wrong, but I see this flopping. I just don't see very many people that would buy this over an iPad... Those that are anti-iPad are those that just don't want/need a tablet. There can't be many people out there that will say, "well I'll buy a tablet PC now because BB finally made one with a USB port" (those people are missing the point of what the tablets are for anyway, it's not meant to replace your main computer/laptop). RIM got leap frogged in the phone market and I see this and their new Torch phone as hail marys trying to catch up to things that Apple already made popular. There will always be anti-Apple people, but they are buying Androids now (at least most former BB users I know). ..
Looks to be pretty good, and first tablet after the iPad not to be a collection of afterthoughts glued together. Plenty of Blackberry folks out there, so sales should be decent, but not iPad level.
Definitely going to buy it for my gf as a gift once it's out. I don't really use tablets much but I guess she would love such stuff. =) And she would be happy to pair her Torch 9800 with playbook I guess.
