My GPU just makes it....

 

Took a few days off to gain some F1 game composure...and come back to Monaco hell. Breaking for a 2nd gear turn are ya? Blocking. Again? Blocking. One more time this lap? Blocking. Let's throw in a caused collision, too, because you got rear ended on pit lane.

This is the most aggravating racing game I've ever played. I absolutely hate it. I just woke my wife up again by yelling, "WHAT THE SH$*!?!?!?" I'm hoping Steam does refunds, but I don't think they do. I blew $40 for a game I hate. It's my own fault I guess.

 

I read some forum posts, adjusted my wheel saturation levels, and it helped quite a bit. I managed a 6th place at Monaco after the BS...then it froze during loading. NowI get to do it all over again....

 

I love and hate it at the same time, for starters yesterday I did Australia in career mode and in practice the AI was slow and I managed 6th or something in quali though they sped up and I managed only 12th, in the race I would have got 10th if it wasn't for a mistake (my fault I know). However I looked at the leader board and somehow Liuzzi managed 2nd. The AI is so F'ed up. Oh and in the race my fastest lap was 2 seconds faster than the leaders... How the bloody hell does that happen? And it doesn't tell you how far ahead or behind you are to the next car. When CodeMasters gets everything sorted it will be an amazing game, until then I might wait til for Friday and buy Fifa 11 and wait until they bring out the patch.

 

It seems to be either too easy or too hard, I really hope they get the AI worked out. Th AI not pitting is also really making me hate this game, how they let all this get by is beyond me.

 

So is anyone racing online?

 

I'll play around with people I know online, but I've never been a fan of public lobbies.

I agree, I hate it when the AI turn to ghosts in the pits one of the force india's went straight through me. The way they were promoting the game at gamescon and E3 etc made us all think it was finished but it isn't, not even close. The list of things that need altering and completely changing is huge.

 

I've just given up on making a real experience, so I'm on Professional AI and am around 4th in driver championship.

 

I started over with Lotus, and no longer have spin out problems. I'm starting to really enjoy the game now, even with some of the other probs. Can't wait for the patches, though.

I keep telling myself that if so many people are doing well and enjoying it, then surely I'm doing something wrong. Lotus seems to be so much easier to control and handle. I've had 1 spinout at Bahrain, and it was my fault for cutting in early over curbing. It's like a totally different game. I started with doing 3 season with STR, but restarted with the 7 season.

Give me another hour, I'll be back here after my next rage quit!

 

Ive had one crash in practice in Australia and it was incredible. I wasn't paying attention and missed the brake marker for one of the tight right-handers, tried to keep in the run off but caught the wall and then entire front of the car just exploded. I ended up turning off damage though because of the pit and puncture bugs.

Also it seems very likely that using a flashback deletes the intention of the AI to pit, not the only cause but a main one. I usually use 3/4 flashbacks a race and always notice the ai not pitting, but in Canada I didn't use any and everyone pit.

 

Has anyone seen or had any Engine blows yet? They seem to not exist. Oh and every time I start a new race it goes back to the some other settings with ABS off Manual gearbox and other that I don't want. How do I change this for good?

P.S. Had ALOT of spins at Malaysia in the rain the car was just un-driveable.

 

One thing i found out while playing today is that after every race the game automatically swaps to a fresh engine. And it takes a whole practice session to switch back to another engine. I'm practicing in monaco right now and i know i am going to have some trouble during the race trying to meet the teams expectations. Qualify 10th or better and finish 8th or better. I don't have any trouble with crashing, it's just that i can't find the speed with my car. Even with 10% better brakes and 20% down force upgrades. Racing with STR.

 

After winning Shanghai and Catalunya, I'm struggling hard at Monaco. I'm sure it has to do with the "rubber-banding" discussed on CodeMasters' board.

In practice, my best time is 1:20. Many other players have said they're getting into the low teens. Lap record is 1:14.4, Schumi 2004.

What setups are you fast guys using? What were your times for Monaco? Thanks in advance!

 

i used this in the lotus and got 1:16 on options in the dry.
