The 2012 Esprit will be my next car... even if I have to trade my Elise, my Exige, and my right arm for it!

IMHO the Gallardo 560 is still the best looking in this class

I was thinking a mash-up of the McLaren MP4-12C (rear), and Lamborghini Gallardo (front air-dams).

No, nor am I. It looks like it's trying too hard in the styling department... hopefully they've added sufficient lightness to make the car an engaging drive to overcome these aesthetic deficiencies.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Is it me or is the roofline on the yellow car different than the white? Different concepts?

Also, the front reminds me of a squished mitsubishi evo...

They have abandoned the 'happy' Lotus face that they spent decades establishing. This looks like a Lambo. Why buy the Lotus when you can have the real thing?

The yelow is the Elan - V6 2+2 (probably a redesigned Evora)

    The white is the Esprit.

Why by a Lambo when you can have a Lotus?

Why by a Lamborghini at all, other than a Countach? Want that front-row parking spot at the nightclub that badly? :D

I see that now, I like the Elan's lines more than the Esprit.

I also see some Hyundai Tiburon (?) in that weird line below the rear quarter windows.

    Also some Gallardo...

I have checked all these threads and the only one I can tell apart is the Elise. Maybe I need to see them in person, but they all look very bland to me. And how does Lotus have the money to release all these new cars at once? Or are they?

I like the side window line of the Elan better . . . but I like the rear of the Esprit better. I'll take either! :)

Lotus doesn't have the money but their parent company Proton does. That being said, my guess is that only 3 of these cars come out of the drawing board:

    1. Elise
    2. Esprit
    3. Elite

The only way the Elan joins the list is for Lotus to discontinue the Evora and the only way the Eterne comes to fruition is if Proton spends $1B dollars for R&D which is what I'm told Lotus needs to come out with for all 5 new models. Still, I like those 3 models and there's still a minimum of 3 years we'll have to wait before any of it makes it to our shores.

Lotus have been talking about a five-model line-up for some time now, well before Dany. For what it's worth, the Elan doesn't have that far to go, with the Evora already in existence . . .

Considering how long it takes Lotus to introduce a model, the first of the new ones might be obsolete by the time the fifth comes out, though! :D
