Rich and Jean also allow exotics of any year; Rich considers any Ferrari an exotic. My wife and I drove my 456M in last year's rally and my son and I are entered this year.

I think there may be a vacant compound available near Waco that the Branch Davidians are no longer using... :)

Looking for a place to lease right now. Can't buy right now since I am not selling my place here as of yet. I have a couple years to get a feel for Texas before I have to make that decision. I can only have one VA loan at a time. Whats a good area to look? Elm Mott?

    Cheers!

Hah, that's funny. One of my friends is a Colorado native and lived in Colorado Springs. Both he and his wife had a rather poor opinion about Texas drivers (vacationing in Colorado) and developed a hatred in general for Texans.

It was karma that our company pretty much told him to move here or else he won't get any further up the corporate ladder. Boy, they were not shy about referring to their move to Texas as their "prison sentence."

That was 7 years ago and I don't think they plan to move back, not at least until they retire.

My best friend packed his bags and moved to Seattle a few years ago for a change of pace. He and his wife loves the quality of life up there. He's been trying to get me to move up there, but cost of housing up there makes it hard for me to swallow.

There's alot of money and alot of "$30k millionaires" floating around in Dallas. The challenge is figuring out who really has money.

And two in College Station, 90 miles down the road toward Houston. That's like, what, 20 minutes in an F-Car?

I'd live in Waco. Of course I've proven I'll live just about anywhere in Texas :)

Ted Nugent lives near Waco. Doesn't he have an F-car? Or was it an F150 for the ranch?

Ok Dino, you and I have talked many times before so I'm going to give you the straight skinny.........

<said sarcastically> First the second or third poster was right you're going to have trouble finding 2.5 acres. Dude! This is Texas. Just the entryway on my ranch is 3 acres. We have LOTS of land. You'll find anything you want from a subdivision to 10,000 acre working ranches.

Second you're going to make a killing on the relocation. Most people from the north have no idea how inexpensive land in Texas is.

Third my ranch is an hour from Waco so come on over and I'll pour you a glass of wine and my wife will tell yours how great life is here.

Fourth if you're a liberal you're going to be pretty unhappy, but if you're one of us evil conservatives you've found heaven. Texans believe in God, family, country, guns, and Texas.

Fifth Norwood Performance is just up in Dallas so you'll have a great shop to take care of your cars

Sixth think nice weather 330 days a year

Seventh..... oh screw it I've made my point. You'll be ok. Any big move is scary at first, but this is God's country.

Sounds great to me! We are having trouble finding a place to lease right now because of our 3 med. sized dogs. We want to lease for a year to get a feel for the area and decide where to buy. Plus we have to sell our home here too. Don't think we will do the farm thing there but end up out of town on an acre or so to have room for the dogs to run. But who knows maybe back on acreage will be ok there. Too many unknowns right now, they will probably be flying us out for a few days in a couple weeks to check things out. Looking forward to that! I think we'll fit right in in Texas, no liberal here. Look forward to that glass of vino soon!

    Cheers!

Looking like that someplace near Lorena may be well suited for me. Any thoughts on this area?

    Welcome !

If you need a good Realtor in the Waco area, I can certainly give a reference. There are some very nice spots around there.

I read that you are no liberal, I may be a liberal leaning guy, but I certainly welcome you to Texas like anyone else :)

I'm still working on my first Ferrari anyway, I would love to own a 308/328, especially GTB hardtop models.

There are lots of folks here from all over, especially in D/FW, and lots of diversity, which I think is very good. I am looking forward to the '10 D/FW Toy Run, a great event for several years now.

    Regards,
    R.S.
