The link to the Westchester Concours showed photos of a Black Enzo and a Black F50..... I have never seen a Black F50 before. Do you know who owned these cars ?

I do recall the 1990 F40 came only in Red, is this correct ? except for Chris Evans in the UK who paints all his cars white ;-). And the 1995 F50 did offer additional color choices besides Red ? I have seen Fly Yellow, but never black before - very cool....

It's always the right time to buy an Enzo. I bought mine last year when the market took a little dip and got a good deal but this car is worth the cost of admisssion.

The two in Beverly Hills will never make it to the forum as the owner (one person owns both black ones in BH) is a very private guy. Not likely to post here or to even be on the forums.

I believe the black one Joe sold (131631) was not originally black. I belive someone repainted it black. Joe can verify this one way or the other.

34282 is one of the two in BH now.

Pharrel's old car is the same as 34282. Joe's car was not originally black so it should not be included. Back down to six. :)

He's a myth really, but the user NNO may lead you in the right direction.

Were you unaware of it being for sale within the last 365 days?
As Jeffrey mentioned, why not buy the only black Enzo for sale right now?

Coming back to this thread and re-reading your comments, I'm baffled that you have been looking for an Enzo for a year and have not found what you wanted. There have been a number of black cars available in the past year including all those mentioned, and more besides available privately. Several of the cars available have been sitting around without selling so clearly they can be bought at less than what their seller's are touting is their bottom line. I guess I'm not clear on what your problem is in finding an Enzo? Is it the price? Because it sure isn't availability.

Another thing that baffles me slightly is the fact that if you are indeed ready to pull the trigger on an Enzo, using the internet to establish which car is which and who owns what is counter-productive to your acquisition efforts. You will soon find that its much better to find someone who is an expert to help you acquire what you want, then come on F-Chat and talk about it after the car is safely tucked away in the garage.

Just saying. If I can help you into a black Enzo, contact me by e-mail offline right away.

Hey, Joe... What are the odds you'd be willing to tell me the serial number of your Enzo?

By the way, congratulations - you picked the right color. :)

    Jim,

you are incorrect on this matter. To clarify the situation:

The Steffan Erikson cars are red and black. Both (along with an SLR) were financed by Royal Bank of Scotland against a business that went bankrupt. Erikson fled the UK with the cars to the US, where he famoulsy crashed the Red Enzo on PCH. This has indeed been rebuilt and, as I understand it, sits in a storage facility within Maranello. The black car was never damaged and sold by RBS to Germany. These were both Euro spec cars.

Mike (Icemanbops) Enzo is a US spec car, originally owned my Don Wallace, crashed by his son, and repaired. His black one, as you are already aware, was a rebuilt from totalled car where the owner had a heart attack at the wheel.

    Regards
    Mike

I'm sorry, but I've got to ask. In the case of icemanbops. He bought two damaged Enzos. One of which was considered totaled. When the car is considered totaled by the insurance company. Does that mean the car reverts to a salvage title? Since he obviously paid substantially less for the cars due to damage. He also had to pay substantially more to repair them. Given their history neither car will ever appreciate at anywhere near the level of undamaged , no history Enzos. My question is what is the rational for buying one, let alone two damaged cars? Surely he could have purchased one prestine example for the price of buying and repairing two without the headaches. Even if he believed he would be out of pocket after purchasing an undamaged Enzo. He must have known he would probably get it back on its future sale commanding a higher resale price down the road. In fact there is the strong possibility that his expenses to purchase and repair the two would out weigh any gain in a future sale given their history. So ....Why do it?

The black Enzo that Bops has (had?) is only salvaged on paper; the VIN is the only thing tainted. The car - the physical car - is brand new and in perfect condition. For someone who doesn't care about the technicality of a salvage title when the car itself is perfect, it's a great buy.

As for the red one, I think it was already repaired when Bops bought it - and I imagine he bought it for less than the going rate of other otherwise-comparable red Enzos on the market at that time.
