For what is worth, I believe none of the three pictures feature enough sunlight to determine Fiorano or Fuoco with 100% accuracy. You have to agree those pics are far from bright sunlight, especially the 'test' one. The comparison from TonyH is a great effort but once more we find lighting issues, colour names may very well be correct but as lighting conditions difer from one pic to another it is very difficult to see the differences between those reds. I'm finally leaning to Rosso Fiorano, however I can't buy the reasoning that standard wheels can't go with an expensive paint option. Many people prefer the looks of the standard wheels over the optionals so why not spending money in a paint job instead?
I'm definitely with you on the standard wheels. They look much better than the optionals. But... In a couple of threads here someone has posted some enlightening information about the weight savings from going with the sports wheels. Due to the nature of the savings with unsprung weight it's quite an eye opener how much you save by going with the lighter wheels (can't remember the figures exactly). Suffice to say that it's enough to make you look at the sports wheels in a whole new light.
The standard wheels will be unique to the 458 Italia, unlike the optional wheels which were also available with the 430 Scuderia. Some people might choose the standard wheels for this very reason. Each model usually also has unique interior stitching designs on the seats. For that reason some people choose standard style seats rather than Daytona style. What's more expensive isn't always better.
Hey Mike, right on cue! I agree with what you say about more expensive isn't always better. The Rosso Fiorano out of range paint is approx. a $4000 option vs. $25,000+ for the Rosso Fuoco color depending where you live. Here is your authentic example of Rosso Fiorano on that (599). I never judged your car, just stated the it could be someone else's by looking at the Maranello picture alone. Proabably a few dozens of red 458's with wheels like yours were delivered in the same week. Oh, well, as someone suggested I should not be raining on your parade...
Hmm sorry we always ask and debate colours, I wonder what colour the 458 is almost a blue silver colour. Could you enlighten me please. Thanks you
I love Black, it's my favorite color for cars. It just seems like it takes away from some of the detail on the 458. Got probably a week or two before i gotta spec mine out with my dealer and I'm thinking Rossa Corsa. After all, first Ferrari should probably be in the classic Ferrari Red, No?
I agree totally. Black hides all the detail on the 458, and you can't see any of the intake vents and any of the contrast.
If its your first ferrari and you are looking at the 458 you wont go far wrong with the classic red. Easy to sell always in demand and you will have owned the red Ferrari. Once you have had a number of cars you will want to try different colours. If money is no object and you live in the middle east with a collection of cars, then it would be a different story. Your first car is the best experience enjoy.
Another Nero 458 Italia at Ferrari of Austin. I like the fact that the black paint "cleans up" the design. The rear was a little awkward and the black fixes that. I like it in other colors but black is the shiznit. This one has a painted nose & a painted rear diffuser. Love the painted front nose on black. Looks incredible! I was just in Austin two weeks ago and stopped by Ferrari Austin - too bad the car wasn't there!
I mean when people say "Ferrari" first thing to come to mind i would guess is, Red Italian Sports Car.
I understand u. I was almost 100% on White but I have a white Porsche and white Hummer. Thought it would start getting boring. Beautiful pics of the Black 458. Like I said, my fav color. Just think if that lighting wasn't so good and the shots weren't so close up, U would miss alot of the beautiful detail the 458 has.
