Jon- Already beautiful. Funny, I always thought the 206 had an 8000 rpm redline, but the tach clearly shows 7800 rpm. Learn something new every day. Would be interesting to see the difference in weight between the 206 and your 246 coupe. Taz Terry Phillips

Jon, Congratulations. This is awesome!!! The 206 is quoted as being lower but the side by side with your 246 doesn't show that. Might that be due to the adjustable shocks you used on the 246? Manny
The side by side and basic measurements I've done in the past showed identical dimensions from the butresses/doors forward. All the glass is identical, doors, roof, front end identical. Width identical. The only area I could measure that had a difference was the length and height of the rear end. Engine lid of 206 is one less. I believe much of what we've read in the past is myth concerning height of the cabin. Will be interesting for you Jon to compare actual dimensions and report them back to us. Freeman
Thanks for offers of help, I'm sure I will need it. For now just going to drive and enjoy. The steering wheel feels a little big though, other than that no complaints.
It won't take long for you to get used to this, Jon. Enjoy, and keep the revs up high, where she is more happy. w/ smiles Jimmy
Freeman, I've always thought that the side windows (door and quarter windows) had more of an arch on the 206. Never having made the comparison personally, I could be wrong. Perhaps it's more of an optical illusion. I believe that the shorter wheelbase is reflected solely in the area between the doors and the rear wheels. Great project, Jon! Fred
I wondered how long it would take for someone to ask. I took the incorrect off for the picture. The original is getting rechromed this week.
Great car! The skai seats with never restored cloth inserts are extremely rare, I have onnly see once in my live. Never realized the different shifting knob. What is the scaglietti "production" no. ? If you want the correct silver wiper arms, I have a pair from a 206/L-series.
Jon, Dash looks like mousehair that has gone bald. Check the little hidden spots to see if the fur isn't on it there. Look on the underside of the instrument pod and under the bottom of the dash. I am fairly sure the 206 came with mousehair. Dave
I checked everywhere and it for sure is the original vinyl no mousehair. The car has had very few owners, from 1974-2004 it had the same owner in Maryland. Original paint and upholstery.
Congrats on the acquisition, it's a beautiful example! Enjoy driving it, that's what they're meant for.
Just be careful, the 206 GT has special wipers arms. Should be Magneti Marelli, not Arman&c (L-serie) Regards Matthias
Thank you. Lots to learn. I did talk with the owner who had it for 30 years and found out he had painted the instrument panel black.
A few more photos of differences, brakes, bumpers, wipers etc. Also a few pictures of quick detail so it was presentable at cars and coffee.
