FESTIVALS OF SPEED ORLANDO

This is the weekend for anyone who has a passion for cars, boats or planes. Friday night is the Jetport reception and it is worth going to just to look at the food. Sunday is the show at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes at Orlando. About three hundred cars of all types. Everything from classics to formula one cars, hot rods and prototypes. Make it if you can. By the way, Valentino Balboni will be there among other personalities. Bring something for him to sign.

 

I'll be at the party Friday night and the show on Sunday. The FOS is an amazing experience. Ive attended the past two FOS weekends in Miami Nov. '09 and St. Pete April '10. On display will be the new LF-A and one of the few 599XX racers.

And I just got an email from the FOS media dept. saying that Ferrari of Central Florida hinted at bringing a very rare car. Both the 599XX and a 275 GTB have been confirmed so let's hope they display something else too.

We should try to have an FChat meet-up during the show sometime for whoever is going.

 

Do you know if sunday will be open to the public?

 

Yes it is. I'm not sure what ticket prices are though for general admission. Miami was $20 but St Pete was only $10. Check the fesivals of speed website.

Tickets at the door are only ten dollars and you will certainly get your monies worth.

 

$10/person, but valet at the Ritz is $25 plus tip and last time I was there, that was the only way to park.

LOL!! That's what we said, but it's not a big deal. We're just going to park down the street and strap on some rollerblades. Smooooooth.

Don't valet it. They have other parking. I personally have never had to use it but, they tell me it works well for the commoners. Hey, put your car in the show. It's easier to get out of the show area than the parking lot.

 

Can anyone tell me if they are they going to have a McLAren f1 roadcar?

 

I highly doubt it. I've gotten some emails from the FOS media dept. and they haven't said anything. They have said that a Enzo & 599XX, new LF-A, new Bentley Conti SS Convertible, Nelson's Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Bleu (1 of 1), and some others will be there plus contemporary displays from Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Porsche and some rare concepts.

 

According to my sources, the new McLaren will be there along with a number of other rare exotic cars.

 

Well what can I say... The Jet Port party was amazing. Hot cars, beautiful women, and free drinks. It doesn't get any better than having a drink inside a private G4 jet. On display was the new Lexus LF-A, the new McLaren MP4-12C (!!!), and Nelson's Giallo 458 Italia. All around a fantastic night. I'm really looking forward to the show on Sunday.

cant wait for this to come to miami!! would go to orlando but the drive(4 hr) is too much....tell us how it is and what we can expect and take tons of pics those of u that go

glad it went so well but at $200 or whatever the ticket cost, what was really free about "free drinks?"

 

The perks of a media pass my friend. I parked on the runway with the valet cars and walked right in. Spent about $5 for tips on drinks.

Due to technical difficulties I can't post my photos

I know a few people who did take some photos and they'll post theirs.

Highlights of the show for me were the McLaren MP4-12C, Nelson's Veyron "Sang Noir" and Veyron Grand Sport "Sang Bleu", UGR twin turbo Gallardo going ballistic, and of corse the F-cars: 333SP, 275 GTB, yellow and black 458 Italias and my favorite Rosso Corsa Challenge Stradale.

I'll post an iPhone video of the UGR Gallardo in a minute.
