I got married on the weekend of the race, or was it the weekend before ... can't remember ... Been watching it for 30 years or so. Used to watch it all, then I moved to working on my cars and coming in for the highlights. While I might not be the biggest v8 Supercar fan (by a long way), love the track and the meeting. Pete
I have a mate getting married this Sunday at 4.30 pm. RIGHT at the end of the race. Silly little man.
scrap the taxi race forever and go back to the GTHO, XU-1 format, hotrods that give the govts the sh!ts because they can do 160mph Remember those headlines in the "olden days" ?? V8 XU-2s, E49 Chargers, Phase IV GTHOs , none of this egg shell filled with full rollcage , Ford diffs on both models , slicks, quick fill fuel cells, special brakes .... the whole thing is a sham to make the bogans feel their crapheaps can "do" a Ferrari for a fraction of the price when the truth is these taxis cost more than a Ferrari and are lucky to meet their times
Actually both cars are exactly the same suspension wise I believe. It is a sham. Holden don't even race a motor they sold as a production unit, it is a special block because their design sncked and was taller than the Ford ... so they whinged. Everytime Holden loose they whinge. If I was Ford I would tell them to go snck on my cars exhaust pipe and not let them have any concessions. Anyway touring car racing in this country needs to go back to showroom models. The cars are much more advanced now-a-days and would put up a reasonable race, and actually be more advanced than these race cars! Pete
it'd be a short race, one, maybe two laps , all over take a standard HSV or FPV to the track from the showroom and see how long they last
