Hi. I have a brake problem, the car drifts to the right during hard breaking. The mechanics tell me there is some kind of distribution or slave cylinder to the front brakes. I wonder if there is anyone who has a Brake system layout for the 308 qv. The one I have is from 1978 and there the front brakes are connected too the master Cylinder and no slave or distribution cylinder are shown. Thanks MrSweden
Take a good close look at the front lower a arm mountng bolts. If the right rear has loosened and dropped a shim, the a arm will be pushed back under braking, causing toe out and reducing the camber a bit, all of which could cause a pull to the right. I do not believe that there is anything other than a master cylinder and proportioning valve in the hydraulic system, Neither of which would cause a pull - check the suspension, both sides, front and back. hth, chris
My car did the same. 4 wheel caliper rebuild and now they're perfect. If your brakes haven't been rebuilt, it's time.
Get a totally different mechanic to do the right front caliper .... and if it comes good then it was not fixed properly by the first guy who said it has all been done. ........... then fix the other 3 because they are all about to go the same way.
