You will not feel 150 lbs unless you are flying a helicopter.

How much weight reduction would it take to be noticable?

    Helium in the tires.
Go to Lexan side glass and rear glass.
Get rid of the "chicklet" in the center of the rear hatch, for that matter, get rid of the louvers too.

An educated guess would be about 500 before a person could feel a seat of the pants increase.

In the drag racing circles, for every 100 lbs you lose a tenth of a second.

I disagree. I can easily feel the extra weight of a passanger when on the track. Braking points, turn in points.... they all must be adjusted when there is a rider.

I just can't feel the difference in my big fat TR.
Full tanks and a passenger pushes it close to 4,000 lbs.. (3660 dry)

I imagine in your IMSA 348 that would be a different story all together.:)

You can feel a difference in a car that only weighs 1500 when you lose a passenger that weighs 200, yes but 2000 and up, no.

Losing 100 pounds in a 4000 pound car, is a 2% reduction in weight, which is like adding 8 hp to the engine. Negligable difference. However, at 200 pounds, you will start noticing the difference.
If you can get there without "major surgery" is something different entirely.

    If it were my car:

Lose the headlights and headlight motor, replace with plexiglass
    Lightweight gel battery
    Straight Pipes
    Lose bumper surround
Lose strakes, both on doors and lights.
    17 in lightweight rims
Sound deadening material, and carpeting in boot
    Spare tire, tool delete
    CF Racing seats
Lose electric window motors (and replace with plexi and slide)
    Lose 1 rearview mirror (lol)

Lots of good suggestions for a "diet" for the TR. Personally for me...I would want to keep the original looks of the car. I was thinking of ideas for improving a nice street driven Testarossa. I never thought about the headlight motors, etc. That's a new one. The sound deadening material delete would get you about 5 pounds at most...but at least it's something. I think removing the AC and Heater unit would get another 40 pounds or so out of the car. Removing the U.S. version car's rear bumper black center portion would also be about 5 or 10 pounds. Using some nice light weight wheels would really help a lot too. As for the glass....I'd keep the original stuff. Same for the engine "chicklet"....that thing doesn't weight much at all. So if I summed it all up, you might be able to reduce a street TR's weight by about 200 -250 pounds without sacraficing the proper look of the car. That combined with a few simple mods to the air intake system and exhaust system....and I'll be the TR's performance would surprise more than a few people.

I know everyone says it's too heavy and too big...but in reality us TR owners can attest that once your rolling along the car performs very well. As I recall, it's only something like 1 or 2 seconds slower than the mythical 288GTO around Fiorano. That kinda puts things in perspective.

    Jeff,
What about the easiest one: The spare tire. I mean I would swap it for an AAA card and lose some real pounds. Anyway I would never see myself change the tire on my TR on a side street. Heck it's a single lug TR...

You mentioned lightweight wheels. That's unsprung weight so no weight reduction in reality. Technically, 200lbs is worth about 8hp but the human body, will not notice it. Only a time slip will pick it up.

Doesn't a reduction in wheel weight provide a greater benefit (to acceleration) than an equivalent loss of weight on a non rotating part?

It similar to having an aluminum flywheel. It would make it slightly quicker but again, not to the seat of the pants.
